Was at range today and noticed these young kids (cause I'm old) just walk up to the bench and start using it, not sure if they signed in but isn't everyone shooting suppose to sign in??

The rain scared them off....

You are supposed to sign in. This serves as evidence that you followed the rules and transported your firearms to the shooting range. It also serves as a petition to show range usage and keep it open. 

If them guys get pulled over going in the opposite direction from the range then they have no evidence that they were there.  Charges could be filed.  Unlikely,  I'm sure, but possible.

I guess these new guys have no respect for the rules.... really worried that people don't follow range rules... Always gotta look around and check to see if I'm safe....

Can tell the new guys, shoot like hell then leave.... I guess the brass is free for the taking....

I think it's going to depend on if they have been there with experienced shooters or not.  First time I set foot on the range, my friend told me to sign in, so I knew immediately.  These guys could've missed it.  If they saw it and shined it, then they are total assholes.

I did say something but never verified that they signed in.... But hey signing is up to the individuals if they want to follow that rule, if they broke rules regarding handling of firearms, the RO's would have been notified immediately....

You talkin about me? I always drop my stuff at a bench first so I don't have to carry everything all over the place. While I uncase, setup spotting scope, etc. my gf walks over to sign in. After she gets back, I go to sign in.

I left when the rain started but we we're gonna leave to get food after 1 more round anyway. Actually a lot of people packed up when the rain started. Although no one said anything to me and I have my brass. So maybe not me but I have noticed a lot of people who go through the same procedure of dropping off then signing in.

It had better not have been my kids who were at the silhouette side yesterday. They know better. My son does anyway. He was to be the responsible adult for his cousins. Three Haole kids?? if so we will have words.
They brought all the brass home though.... for Dad to reload

If they are new, then they don't know the rules.  It's up to the Range Officers to run the range.  They get paid to do it, so they should do it and do it in a professional manner.

Yep, they could be new and just dont know the rules.  This is why you shoudl never attribute malice to simple ignorance and stupidity. 

Sorta like all the morons which think someone is giving them the stink eye when in reality there is something weird behind you like a giant spider.



To all those which do get upset; Just relax, nobody made you the police of the firing range.  There are already Range Officers there.  Now if someone is doing something unsafe or putting you at risk of getting shot, then sure speak up but if not, mind your own business!
