9mm 1911 mags?
« on: February 27, 2013, 12:06:48 PM »
Hi all,
Looking for some help acquiring 1911 magazines for my RIA 9mm.  Anyone know anywhere that would sell any?  Every where I've looked has been sold out.

Have you checked MidwayUSA? www.midwayusa.com

I've gotten Metalforms, Wilson Combat, Springfields and some others for my RIA 9mm 1911.  8)

Hey Ted, how are those metalform and Springfield mags? Do they work well in your 1911? 9 rounders or 10 rounders?

I hate to say it, but I like the 9 round Metalforms and Springfields better than my Wilson Combat 10-rounder (I know, blasphemy!  )
The magazines are fine. The only FTFs I've had were when I failed to insert a magazine properly, and I have the occasional (maybe once every firing session, so call it every 150 rounds or so) failure to lock the slide to the rear on the last round.
I've now numbered my magazines, so I'll be able to see if it is a mag problem or a pistol problem.

And I love, love , LOVE my RIA M1911!
The only way I could love it more was if I put a picture of myself on it......oh, wait, maybe TMI.....

Hey Ted
my ria 9mm did the same thing. I heard the recoil spring may be a bit to heavy. Not sure what the stock weight is, but I put a 12# in it to see if it helps. Once I shoot it I'll let you know.
