You can get a CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) one for ~30% ish less than brand new retail.  They go back to the factory and are fully disassembled and inspected.  Any parts needing replacement are swaped and the gun is sent back out with a 1 year warranty.  2 of mine are CPO's, my P220 and my primary carry P228.

I have a sig pro 2340 that I bought from a guy for $275 a couple years back and I real ylik eht gun. It shoots as well as my P229 & P226.

Sig makes some good handguns.

i love my p229! i love the accuracy, feel, kick, style...price was hefty but to me it was worth it...

What kind of welder you got?

I used to have a great Miller Mig welder with gas. I sold it when I got rid of the jeep that I built, along with all the rest of my 4X4 stuff. 

Think this is a Lincoln Mig welder (no gas). Will work for the thickness of the metal you got.
