Just a more reliable extractor. While my Ruger extractor still works fine the general consensus amongst various forums is that oem Ruger extractors are crap.

Oh interesting, something I should look into more.
What are some preferred upgraded brands? And pricing?
And is it a DIY swap or should a gunsmith handle it?

The 10/22 are notorious for having issues with ejecting unfired rounds the stock ejector claw is the issue its not shapped well.  I haven't done mine yet but prob will soon.

Bass Monkey a new extractor was on the list for my older 10/22 so i got an extra one for this rifle. The volquartsen extractor has a harder and sharper edge to dig in there. Less ftf

I've done my own trigger work, polishing and fitting.

Oh thanks for the website, I'll check it out. I changed the mag release and stuff so sounds like it won't be to hard to do myself. Thanks for the info. And bigK, what did you do to your trigger, polish and make it smoother? Sounds like something I should do as well. Can't afford a new gun so I just do minor upgrades to existing ones.

my first time shooting with irons I couldn't even hit the target. Didn't know what the hell I was doing and shot about 300 rounds with like 2 random hits at 50 yrds

second time with irons I had a friend who was in the army help me out. yea it was on the bench and it's way far from center but I'm proud of myself for this group.

Always helps to have a spotter when zeroing.  It can save a bunch of time, ammo, and frustration. Not to mention holes in your frame

Keep in mind that at 50 yards the bullet path is from the bottom coming up to what would be a 100 yard zero in the cases of most rifles due to the offset between the sights and barrel.

Next time if you want there are guys here who can boresight the rifle to get you on the paper at least so you can work on zero-ing out your rifle.

Wow that's a sick sling. Great idea. Now I know how to connect a sling to my gun. I need a sling swivel.
