I ordered a Hogue stock off of Amazon this past FRIDAY NIGHT (3-15-13)........

I never tried the "Free Shipping" way.......

Longest shipping process.......I figured lets try it, I'm in no rush.......

I got it today! Tuesday (3-19-13) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DANG! THAT WAS THE FASTEST SHIPPING I'VE EVER SEEN!!!!!

Wow that is fast.

  Amazon's super saver shipping can surprise you sometimes and it rarely disappoints. 

I ordered a couple spare electronic parts a couple weeks ago and the estimated delivery date is middle of April. Most likely they are riding the waves right now.

their larger or heavy items ship ups or fedex and they leave the warehouse quick if it says its in stock available for delivery. especially if it says "want it by thursday ______ order within ___hours and choose priority overnight shipping" then the super saver shipping will only take 3-5 business days tops.

they not only process their small items slower, they ship them parcel pool so it bounces around the midwest for a 5-7 days before it even reaches the west coast to board a boat.

i could live off amazon.com

For what ever I need, I check if Amazon has it first

Is not amazon a pool of companies that use their service?

there are three types of "sellers" on amazon
the main one, of course, is amazon.com
this is the place where you get free super saver shipping
the second type is "fulfilled by amazon"
these are sellers that use amazon's website and services and their goods are co-located with amazon's
so shipping is faster and you can still  ge tfree super saver shipping
lastly, there are individual sellers/companies that use amazon web services only
they benefit by being included in amazon.com searches
but the products from this group are shipped by the companies themselves
so may take longer and most likely will not be free shipping

I also find midwayusa.com has good prices and reasonable shipping. But then again 2aHawaii gets a commission if you go to amazon through him

Actually the "special handling fee" was $3 I forget how much the shipping was
