Handgun safety course
« on: March 21, 2013, 12:05:35 AM »
Im looking for NRA instructor that can teach me the course and get me the affidavit on the same day for cheap. Ive talked to a few people and so far, the cheapest ive found was $125. Im looking for someone to do it for under around $80. Im trying to save up for a nice handgun, and every little bit helps. If you know anyone that would do it for really cheap it would be greatly appreciated, Thank you in advance.

You can always take the hunters course for free.  realistically though if you can't afford the $125, you can't afford ammo (at least not in hawaii where average price for ammo=50-100% over retail) or a gun...  you might wanna look in to airsoft, the pellets are only 1/10 of a cent each :)

Hawaii defense foundation will get you your cert the same day!  I'd highly suggest chris.

I know how much ammo cost. Thanks for wasting my time reading this insult. Don't you have anything better to do?

The hunter's ed course is the most affordable (I went this route) and the turnaround time on the certificate was 7 days. I also will be spending the money on an actual class in the future.

Since you posted on another thread that you were thinking about buying a handgun out of state (due to an earlier DUI), maybe you can find a cheaper safety course instructor in that state.  Just a suggestion.

Yea about the DUI question I saw you said your registering a gun on Monday so I'm assuming you already have a permit to acquire maybe for a long rifle? In which case I don't think the back ground check is any different with a handgun so if you already have one permit you should be fine passing a handgun permit.

I never meant any thing I wrote as an insult.  I'm sorry if you took it that way.

Hard to make money charging $80 for a NRA class.  Costs about $50 or so just to break even + range fees + notary.
