Pistol accuracy at 25 yards
« on: October 11, 2009, 12:07:22 AM »
I was wondering what kind of accuracy people get at 25 yards with high powered pistols. I have a glock 23 and can barely see a target printed on an 8.5x11" sheet of paper through the iron sights. Is that a problem for anyone else? Does any one have any suggestions on how to improve my accuracy?

That's a long range for pistol work; many of those who pursue it use optical sights and other specialized equipment.

The most I ever practice at was 50 feet, the maximum length at an indoor range I once used.  My interest is solely in defensive use, so I practice up to a range of about 21 feet---I figure if the threat is 25 yards away, I will run away to seek cover.

I can hit steel swingers at 50 yards pretty consistently with most of my handguns.  Mind, I'd sure prefer to practice at more realistic distances, but Kokohead has what Kokohead has!
The difference between theory and reality is that, in theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.
