That was a good essay,  Redtail. It's probably even one that could be used to persuade some people on the edge of the debate.

If that guy wrote it then good... but it's quoted a few other places as that Major having written it.

Hey Funtimes,
I read through a little of the article you posted and it looks like that one is actually the copy. Here is the original written by Marko Kloos back in March of 2007. There is also a link in the campaignforliberty page.

You know I pulled that quote about force and reason on a old paper from some where.  I don't have that essay any more but I used it for a gun paper in English II lol.  That guy isn't getting his proper credit if it was his.I think it was a book somewhere.

Now im pretty upset that someone would alter this stuff, post it under a new name -- and then that shit gets published in a book lol ??? Wow!  Made me feel like a jerk, I thought someone ripped off some old Marine!

First time I've read that essay, but it's funny because I've said the exact same thing to my girlfriend. I asked her what would she do if a 6'3", 250 lbs guy broke into the house with violent intent? Would she be able to fight him off by herself? Did she think being armed with a knife or baseball bat would bring her to even footing with her attacker?

I told her being familiar and skilled in the use of a firearm would be the one true equalizer. I guaranteed her that the sound of her racking the 12 gauge, or dropping the slide on the .40 would make the attacker think twice. And if by some chance the rapist/murderer decided to continue to go after her, she would have the tool(s) available to keep herself alive...

I hope that she has trained with the 12 ga?  Or at least has some experience shooting it.
If not, wait til next year.  There may be special training for women n guns........

Do you have any idea how much of a Mess a 12 ga makes?

I have a friend whose job was to pick up dead bodies.

The worst was a guy who committed suicide by putting the barrel of his 12 ga in his mouth and using his toe
to pull the trigger. My friend was pulling brain matter off the walls and ceiling behind him for hours.

CSI doesn't even come close.....
