Finding Revolvers
« on: October 21, 2010, 05:38:44 PM »
A while back someone asked where I find the "reasonably priced" revolvers that I do

Here's one I just got for the Wife at the last gun show, picked up today

Colt Detective Special 38 cal.  Didn't like the grips that came with it.  Looking for
Nicer grips that the Wife likes.

Anyway, here's a lead on some almost Cheap security or LEO turn ins.
Note, bobbed hammer and DAO

Great home defense gun for the Wife.  Bad Guy's lawyer can't say she cocked it and the hammer slipped.

Get a group buy, 5 or more, under $200 well $199.95

Thanks for the link Old Guy.

How do you feel about the Model 64? Do you happen to know if the bobbed hammer can be replaced by a regular hammer?
I am not a lawyer.

I have a M-64 PPC gun.  4" Hvy Barrel, with Bomar sights.  Really smooth.
Only down side is that it is chanbered or 38 spl.  I would prefer 357 and use 38s.

M-64s are great basic guns.  I wouldn't have posted the link if I didn't think so.  With the 4" Hvy barrel, shooting 38
are Almost like shooting 22s,  great home defense gun, buy several and leave in locked boxes in various rooms of the home.

If you get on that DAO, leave it alone.  I really don't think it's worth spending the money to change it over.
Lowering the hammer on a cocked revolver can result in a Major Ooops if not very carful.
Not sure how much a new hammer is.  Check with Brownell's or Numrich Arms.
Make Sure you know what you want.  More hammers and triggers than you know.
