Howzit all.

I have recently been offered in a trade a Walther PPQ classic 9mm.  The person states that this gun is worth 1-1.1k.  Online it retails for about $600.  Is this guy full of s@#t or is he reasonable.  I don't know the rarity or availablity of the gun so I don't know the value. Any insight on the value of this piece would be greatly appreciated. For condition purposes, lete say its in great condition.

Yes it is worth $1100+ easy. Classic version only. Mags are $75 and up. Yes the gun retailed for $600 but it was near impossible to buy one. Most were bought and put on gunbroker for $700+. Then they stopped making them and went to the M2. The m2 can be bought for $600. The mags are different also. I brought a classic in and I one for myself. Customer came in and made an offer so I sold it to him. Then no more came in and I had to panic and buy one off gunbroker for $860 plus fees.  Reason being they were discountinued.

Classic= Ambi finger mag release
M2= thumb release for right handed people.  Can be switched for lefties.

I bought a PPQ Classic off of gunbroker.com for around the same price as Speed. I really enjoy the feel of the gun while shooting and do not regret my decision. The PPQ Classic is still being produced by WaltherArms, but is only being sold in Europe. The "paddle" magazine release works for me.

I bought a PPQ a few months after it came out. It was hard to find so I paid a little extra at that time, about $650. I thought that was crazy to spend that kind of money on a polymer gun. I love my gun. The mag release is on the trigger guard, sort of like some HK guns. Mags are pretty expensive, but you could buy some Magnum Research mags for the PPQ which runs about $35-$45 on Gunbroker. Would I pay $1000 for a PPQ?  Probably not. If I were to spend that kind of money, I would prob get an HK. That's just my opinion. If you do buy it, I would say "congrats". It is a great gun.

Yes sir!

I dont like the M2 mag release. Its easier than most other pistols. But i prefer the trigger guard release.  Also its longer than the P99 release. So very little effort needed.

You like the PPQ more than the HK P30?  Wow, I was thinking about getting the P30. Maybe I'll consider the HK45 Tactical instead

The P30 is an awesome gun.

I haven't shot the P30 before, but when I held it, it felt like a glove. I thought it was custom fitted to my hand. I'm still thinking about getting it.

seriously though, there are P30 owners on hkpro.com that also have PPQs
they hare supposed to have rediculously short resets
Hks (at least the P series) are known for long reset, "combat" triggers
i love my P30, especially the way it looks and feels
i don't mind the trigger, but i have also changed a spring and may change another to lighten the pull
i also prefer (in my small mind) the idea of hammer fired vs. striker fired

The P30 is top heavy.

I can point and shoot the PPQ faster. But it does flip up faster than the P30.

Now the P30 is #2 in my book, But this is my opinion.

I would love to take both out on a ISPC course and see which is faster.

P99AS and a PPQ is way different

What's the diffs dex between the older p99 which I have shot and loved to the ppq?

P99AS has a DA and SA mode trigger. The P99QA is the same as the PPQ as in SA when cocked.  But has a ridiculous trigger pull
Unless it was the later versions.  The PPQ has a lighter trigger. 

My early P99 has the crazy pre-pulled/half trigger mode too for short first shot pull.   I love that gun and will never sell it!  If/when out of here am looking forward to suppressing it.  It is the gun later 007s should have been issued.
