Bloomberg wants to cut fees for gun permits???
« on: October 26, 2010, 04:33:39 PM »
Apparently Bloomberg is backing a bill to cut the cost for City gun permits from $340 to $25-$100. The city council isn't too happy about this switch. It appears to be a response to the McDonald v. Chicago ruling.

Wow, that's very interesting news...it's almost like he is trying to make the process more user-friendly, from a typically Anti-2A guy none the less...maybe Hawaii will take note.

They want to help stimulate the economy in the state? Well, I'm sure more money being thrust into the economy via a couple thousand more handgun sales each year ($600 per handgun x 1000 sales = $600k additional money entering the local economy) wouldn't hurt matters any. Besides, it's not like we can carry them anyways... ::)

He wants to add lotttttts of restrictions and disqualifications. Bad credit? No credit? No guns... Not even joking.
Parking tickets? Speeding? Any type of criminal or civil infraction...  No gun.

Lost your job? House is foreclosing? No guns.

There seems to be an intent to avoid costly legal battles in light of Heller and McDonald. But, if indeed that is the intent behind these fee reductions (oh, did you see the quote from the council members who called the fees "fines?") how do they think they will be able to restrict the ability to get a gun on the basis of non-felony, non-violent crimes/infractions? Such logical inconsistencies baffle me...oh wait, they're from anti-gunners so no logic needed...

Isn't that the truth? All I want is just ONE anti to be willing to actually debate the issue with FACTS instead of blind fear.
