Hey guys, sounds like you guys are into hand to hand combat.... If you guys turn out to do a class, I could ask couple of my mitts guys to teach the basics like stance, breathing, form, technique, strikes, combos. Etc..., LMK mahalo and aloha :shaka:

I like Escrima, That technique is very effective, great with wrist control and helps strengthen the wrist also. My grandfather taught me alittle, spar with him occasionally and it keeps him healthy. First time I got knockout cold was with a Kali stick and I was hooked on hand to hand combat.

Thanks for the offer, FU808!

Do you fight with/train out of a specific gym?

Also, welcome to the 2aHawaii forum ohana.   :shaka:
Thanks NewGuy, there was numerous gyms that I represented through out my training, and life. All of them taught me different set of skills and technique. My main gyms were 808Fight Factory in Waipahu, Animal house gym and 5 O boxing in ewa beach. But now I just do tune ups and training sessions to keep my skills intact and condition. I Don't compete anymore due to old injuries....  But I miss it alot!!!

Yup. This is why the Special Operations are incorporating more FMA into their fighting systems, as its proving itself to be the most effective hand-to-hand platform the most  ability to transfer to other tools and skillsets. I got my intro to Kali from some guys in 1st Group, and it really reshaped my whole outlook on martial arts. Since then, I've focused on FMA, GJJ (not BJJ) and Catch Wrestling as my primary unarmed platforms.

Anyway,  :stopjack:  = I still consider Krav Maga to be total crap outside of learning the basic principles and techniques.

Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings with that comment.
Krav Maga, is a crazy way to say mix martial arts.... It's pretty much the same but the utilize some technique that were lost during the die down of the fight scene. It's very effective. And still commonly used. Didn't they have a Krav Maga seminar in Kaneohe this pass July?

Nice... competition brings out the best (or the worst) in a competitor, no?

I'd definitely be down for some training of any kind!
Yeah man,I think you guys would enjoy it. The one thing i liked about competing is the technical aspect of fighting, like a dangerous chess game. Thats why i liked Pride FC,it was all technical and technique.
