Shooting a shotty at the range??

I just got me a shotgun and I wanted to take it to the shooting range, I wanted to know what is the proper ammo I can use there and how do I go about skeet shooting?? Thanks!!

#7 1/2 - #9 Shot only for skeet and trap. The clubs at Koko Head only operate on the weekends. Google and read the rules of Skeet and Trap shooting before you show up.

What'd kind of shotgun did you get?  I want a decent over-under to shoot skeet, but those suckers are pricey!

Slugs, the closest target frame holes there are are 25yd and there is only two of them...

Why do people call shotguns shottys it sounds terrible.

Load up some slugs and try to hit the steel targets far out  :geekdanc:.

you can fire at the rifle range, but would suggest you only fire slugs. might be able to get away with buckshot, but i wouldnt fire any birdshot, as the pattern might spread and hit other people's target.
Function testing wiyh buck and bird over the berm is fine.

can you shoot birdshot on the weekdays at the mountain side of the skeet or trap ranges just to function test your gun or pattern it?

Just the rifle range on weekdays I believe.
