Reciprocity needs its own vote.  Oh well.  Hopefully the vote allows us to steal some seats.  Then, next year, those 57 votes might just be 60!

I heard Reid say he intends to shelve the original bill for now.

That's good news too. If the amendments didn't pass, his bill would probably die too.  Hurry, pull it out before it has a chance to die.

I wonder how long before the "we tried to get sensible gun laws passed" but "they" resisted line starts getting thrown around. Someone needs to be held accountable for these not passing.

Or I wonder if obama will over ride everyone and make an order to pass laws.

I wonder if people will stop believing that Obama can override congress on anything he feels like.

That's what I'm concerned about after watching how pissed he was in his press conference and the words he used, that he may try to pull some exord shit and let it be challenged. I hope not but who ever knows what his sorry ass may attempt to get away with.

And now, a brief message from the Divider and Blamer in Chief, President Obummer:

Like all dictators Obama gets damned angry when those he wants to rule fail to genuflect appropriately!!  Round One goes to the People, the Constitution, and the NRA

When only cops have guns, it's called a "police state".

I am flabbergasted that they claim 90% of Americans support this.  WTF?  They have no shame whatsoever lying through their teeth.   When is this nightmare going to be over?

This.

For every right wing talking point I hear about how the man is a Socialist Dictator who stops at nothing to force his Evil Agenda on the good American People....

I hear a left wing talking point about how the man is  just another Big Business pocket job who hasn't delivered on a single campaign promise and has nowhere near enough political juju to get anything through congress.

The poor guy is having a tough time living up to everyone's expectations of him.

What both sides agree on (should they get their heads out of their arses long enough to notice) is that no one feels adequately (or even barely) represented on The Hill. We are all concerned that money is running the show more than the will of the people - we just disagree on how and why and spend a great deal of time and energy blaming each other.

This is a text book example of divide and conquer.

Wait, is this a bad thing?

Even the NRA supports fully implementing existing laws. That's what the president is talking about doing. You do realize the man is just doing what the Right was suggesting be done in the first place?

Maybe when the post turtle stops talking about getting things done without congress and the constitution preventing him from doing things.

Those sort of comments do give one pause to wonder just what it is he would like to do if unfettered by those silly old laws.

Here's the latest from Carney on the matter. Says that was round one and there will be a round two, whatever that ends up being. He either doesn't know yet or won't say what their legislative strategy is for round two.
