Yeah she prefers a massive police force (which she can't pay for because her state is just about bankrupt) putting innocent civilians in harms way while her massive police force battles crime.  I think it might turn the state into a warzone.  I would think the "common sense and sensible" approach would be to let individuals decide for themselves like the Constitution says.  Cops battle robbers while unarmed citizens are caught in the cross fire.    Sounds kind of like that other argument that goes "if we have a bunch of individuals running around with concealed guns, there is going to be carnage and shoot em up like the old west."

It's the typical response from ignorant anti-gun people, they don't understand that an armed society is a polite society!

Personally, I don't think the wild west was all that bad. For the most part, if you didn't act stupid and kept to your own business you were fine. Now if you acted up and mouthed off to the wrong person...well, you got dealt with.

It's similar to Chicago in many ways, limit your activities at night to safe places, don't go into seedy areas, don't patronize shady people and don't act stupid or run your mouth and you'll be fine. Unless of course your caught in a  senseless drive by, in which case being armed would be nice.

It's because most people get their history lessons now from TV shows and Hollywood movies. Look at what's labeled "reality TV" today. 15 yrs ago, the only reality TV was the evening news!

It's similar to Chicago in many ways, limit your activities at night to safe places, don't go into seedy areas, don't patronize shady people and don't act stupid or run your mouth and you'll be fine. Unless of course your caught in a  senseless drive by, in which case being armed would be nice.

While this statement may have been true several years ago, it certainly is no longer the case. There is a new breed of punks now that have absolutely no respect for the adult population and especially the elderly. Elderly people are getting robbed and mugged in broad daylight in public places, like shopping mall/supermarket parking lots or while taking their daily walks. Often they become murder victims when they resist or because the injuries sustained result in death. What used to be nice quiet neighborhoods are increasingly experiencing home invasions that end up with elderly people being assaulted and sometimes murdered in their own home. I can't speak directly to Chicago but Detroit I know this for a fact, and I suspect Chicago is experiencing similar activity by these types of punks. A total lack of respect for our elderly folks has emerged that didn't exist several years ago. These punks view the elderly as easy targets and usually threaten them with violence should they report the crime committed against them. It's very sad to see but this is in fact occurring in these large metropolitan inner cities and surrounding suburbs. This type of violence is not just limited to shady areas or drive-by situations anymore, and it’s not just limited to the hours of darkness. BTW...at least CCW is legal in Michigan but the majority of elderly don't arm themselves and often become victims.

That kind of stuff didn't even happen in the Old West. Fact. Most of the high crime stories we hear come from just a few folks - lightly amplified by an entire genre of movies that make it seem like gunslingin' was the only way a body could survive the day.

Chicago is FAR worse than the old west ever was. So is every major city in Gun Control Mecca California.

Yes, Mrs. Feinstein, a semi-automatic rifle with a pistol grip and a flash hider would be an excellent choice for self defense. Your D.C. security team would agree if they didn't have access to the SBR machine guns that they prefer.

Very true!

Hollywood caouldn't make any money off the "Ol Wild West" if they told stories of average americans earning a living with hard work.....they had to glorify and glamourize gunslingin.
