How many people have been prosecuted in the State of Hawaii for conceiled carry without a permit?

I heard there hasn't been any because the State knows it will be taken to the Supreme Court for prosecuting such a case and the jig will be up for the current carry law.

When hpd used to make criminal posts on fb, all the gun charges would be "place to keep". Not sure how many of those charges stuck or actually went through, but people were saying there are other gun charges they could have used but use that one instead.

I’m curious as to why there hasn't been a peaceful demonstration here. As in, 10k or more gun owners marching to the State capitol while open carry armed and to call for an end to the 2nd amendment violations by the state. What are they going to do? Arrest everyone? The national publicity alone would be an embarrassment to the State... an embarrassment to be avoided perhaps by changing the current laws before such a peaceable demonstration occurred. 

This is precisely why the Constitution outlined peaceable demonstrations for situations such as this and why the citizens of this state have never bothered to demonstrate against these laws is beyond me.

I haven't heard of any, but it sure would suck to get stuck with a Class A Felony for concealing w/out a CCW permit!

However, I have heard of a few cases where people had firearms in there car and weren't coming or going to the range or gunshop....oops.

If this were planned properly... we could have many thousands of people come from the mainland to join us. We could infact make it a national demonstration held here in Hawaii. Imagine that... if you can.

Look through the other rally threads, there have been discussions about these sort of things.  Dynamics in hawaii are different to say the least

I've only seen place to keep charges.  It's easier for them, it's less hassle on the prosecution, it makes it harder to directly challenge the 134-9 statute by a criminal defendant.

I think this is a worthwhile idea. I was thinking of applying for a CCW license with the reason for the license field just writing the full text of the 2nd amendment.

It really is sad that if we want to protect ourselves, and our families, in public from "criminals" we could, and would, become "criminals" oursleves!!
