Being from Montana and part Cherokee this really strikes a nerve with me. I've seen the results of giving up your "guns".....it's not pretty!!  :grrr:

We need to learn from our past in order to keep it from happening again. Just because we're "americans" doesn't mean we can't be dealt the same hand from our government!!

I am not sure why the native americans they interviewed in the story are so upset. Maybe I am just insensitive. But... I think pretty much anyone who knows US history and how the native american communities ended up, gets the message loud and clear. Not something to get upset over. Get over it and move on with your own life people.  ::)

Holy cherry picked reporting, batman!

Yeah, it wasn't just about the guns Native Americans had. That's the point, idiot.  ::)

It isn't singling out Native Americans. Its pointing out that the Government isn't always on the up-n-up when it says it'll take care of you at the "small" cost of some freedom.

Exactly!!

Except the Native Americans lost a lot more than a lil freedom, they lost nearly everything they'd ever known. There loss wasn't a "small cost of freedom", but that's another topic.
