Just a personal preference, but I have never cared for this style of website.  You know, the "box thumbnail" approach.  I prefer something laid out like a well-organized outline.

It looks very contemporary, so I'm in no way trying to bash your site, just expressing the fact that I do not like this trend in web design.  I find that it sacrifices function to aesthetics.

That trend might be most us turning to wordpress for sites and updates !  Which is probably why your seeing it more often lol. My limited knowledge of HTML and web design kind of leaves me at the mercy of the theme's I can purchase and update.  Thanks for the info Tom! I'm still trying to get in touch with you about the printer :D. Called you a few times.

Really?

I played hooky Friday, so I haven't been near my office phone since 5pm Thursday.  That probably accounts for it.  Don't worry, I am not flaking... I want that thing GONE!!!  :)

Now that, I do understand.  I created and update the LIFE website using Apple's iWeb.  It, too, is bound to templates.  Thankfully, one of the templates is "blank page."  I can't change the overall width, and I am still forced to pick from their backgrounds, but for someone who can't spew HTML on command, it does the job.

Tom,

Can you get into the HTML code and modify it? If you can, then here's what I think may fix your problem:

1) View the Source Code.
2) Copy and Paste all of it (Command+A and Command+C on the Mac) into MS Word or Open Office
3) Save As - Title it whatever...maybe something like "original code"
4) Do a Find & Replace on the document
4a) Find: "width=700" (without the quotation marks)
4b) Replace: "width=100% (without the quotation marks)
5) Save As - Call it something like "modified code"
6) Copy all of the code from the Word document
7) Go into your web page editor and replace all of the HTML code with the modified code that you just copied
8.) Save the web page and do whatever you need to do (Refresh or whatever) to make the new version come up

That SHOULD fix it....But maybe not. If it doesn't, all you have to do is go back to the file you saved called "original code" and just copy and paste the HTML back into the web editor. If it doesn't work, let me know...I might be able to come up a few other things to try.

Just wanted to share our design logo we have going.

The firearms will probably be removed and replaced with olive branches along the bottom and leading up the edge of the shield.

My final revision

Olive branches symbolize peace. I don't feel that firearms for violence, I believe they prevent it . So that is why I wanted those on there.

It's missing "Honolulu Community College" please revise!

Joking aside, looks great!
I'm wondering though if the cop-style badge would create a different impression than desired. As opposed to a standard shield or something or other. Minor detail anyway.

Yeah I could'nt believe that hahah, second round of revisions I had them take off this "HCC" thing, cus I said it relates to "Honolulu community college".  Of course on the next revision I get "Honolulul Community College" plastered on my logo lol.

The badge was their idea, I say hey I guess it serves the purpose of the slogan for "protecting", but we added the eagle stars and olive branch.

You should put a shark or a honu instead of the eagle or maybe shark/honu eagle combination.
