Old Guy

Wonder if he will be able to testify before state legislature, IF there are any gun hearings scheduled during the time of his stay.

I believe he has testified here in the past, or at least provided written testimony. I remember speaking to him about it once.

On another, related subject, what should we do since we have such a distinguished pro-gun visitor coming into town? Shoould we have some type of event? Lunch/dinner and sell tickets? Maybe do something like that and ask that any profits go toward pro-concealed carry efforts???? Ideas?

I would have to talk to Erica about that, shes the one that secured him -- but sounds great to me.  I think we have enough time to market and advertise that.. will send her a fb msg.

Already did....so far he's scheduled to speak at UH on 15 Feburary, with a couple of other appearances yet to be scheduled. Should leave plenty of time to try and schedule something and market it.......I'd like to but am going to be swamped the next several weeks and we'd need to secure a venue and start marketing the event ASAP to ensure adequate saturation. Especially if any profits are to be realized (if the profits are to be sunk back into the CCW movement...).

Funtimes

I can help advertise it, but I have no idea where we would go. If you can help me with where to go.. I will make sure the "word" gets out.

I think this might be another good opportunity for the group to try to come up with some suggestions and solutions....as I said, my plate is pretty full right now and I'll help where I can, but someone else is going to need to step up and take the lead. Maybe a topic for discussion 3 December?

talks are in the works with Mr. Lott.

The current venue would be the plazaclub (www.theplazaclub.com).  That is, if he accepts.

More advertising, bodies in seats.... this is to help cover some legal costs. i.e., filling fees, depositions etc all take money.

The event will be a nice sit down dinner, and a chance to speak with Mr. Lott in a more personal setting.

I'm not much of an art person, but if someone is willing to draft up a flyer of some sort I can make copies at my work place and canvas a good portion of the UH Manoa campus and maybe other high traffic areas downtown.

Alright so I put a bunch of flyers around the UH manoa campus a week or two ago, but I've been noticing a lot of them have been pulled down.  I realize UH is not a gun friendly environment, as many of the students as well as many instructors are very anti-gun.  The nice thing is, copies are free from my workplace so there's no out of pocket expense for me.  I'm just a little ticked that someone or a group of people are actively trying to violate our first amendment rights.

Has anyone on campus even seen any of the flyers?
