tested the Elmer Keith style bullets over the weekend (from Stateline Bullets, 245 grain SWC Keith style, .431" diameter)
used ACC#7 to get a moderately warm load.  this is the hottest i've loaded a lead projectile. worked out great. was very accurate at the higher load that i tested but was still in the middle of the recommended powder charge by the Accurate reloading data. i didn't want to go too hot with lead bullets. for hot, i'll go with H110 or ACC#9 and JHP bullets
recoil was pretty stout although not as much as a ACC#9 or H110  level, but a good handful for a lead bullet.  i really like these bullets

I make a similar bullet and run 19.0 H110.
It gives me satisfying thump and is wonderfully accurate.

is that for a 44magnum?
if so, what's the bullet weight?

It's a 240 swc. Looks similar to yours.
I run it in a 29.
Of course, it can go hotter but I broke my 29 running full power loads.
So I keep it down a bit.
For flashy stuff, I run a 180 jhp with around 29 H110.
Recoil is moderate but the noise and flash is great.
If you want to see a great pic, go to the khsc.info website and click  on the pistol range info link.
That pic is my son shooting that load. Big fireball!

nice article
but i dont see why they have the LCR in 22.  that would be my last option in the LCR platform, although i do have one.  but mine is more of a practice gun for my LCR in 38sp.  i think thats a good option for a small and light revolver.  its pretty snappy in 38sp.  even 22 WMR would be better than 22LR.  327 mag has always interested me but its sort of an odd caliber

I am thinking of picking up a 22lr pistol or revolver. I already have ammo for rifle.

my favorite 22 revolver is my Single Ten.  i wanted a single six convertible with WMR cylinder, but they only had the single ten at that time.
my favorite 22 pistol is my Mark IV hunter.  1 button take down for cleaning is super easy   :shaka:

Sounds similar to me.  I bought the Single-Ten on an impulse.  When I learned the Single-Six had a .22Mag cylinder, too, I was disappointed in my purchase, because I love to have options and versatility in tools when possible.

If I needed the .22 for home defense, the magnum .22 would be a better option, but I don't see myself being limited to a six-shot .22 in that situation.  So, for target shooting, the Single-Ten makes more sense.

Having 4 more rounds loaded (if allowed) also delays the inevitable need to cycle the cylinder to eject & load each chamber one at a time!   :geekdanc:

if you can't afford a Korth, then you probably can't afford a Manurhin either.  Both are top of the food chain in the revolver world
