I sold a few things at the recent show so I decided to pick this up for myself:  NIB 627-5.  The factory grips suck so I put these on--Spegel Cocobolo boot grips.  Much better, but I gotta wait until next weekend to try it out.  Until then, lots of dry firing.

this past weekend I shot some handloaded 225 grain FTX bullets over some H110 in my S&W model 629.  always a big bang with H110
at silly side, I hit that 1 x 2.5 foot steel target on the right side of the range so hard that it swung right off the crossbar.  I've been going there for years, and never did that before.  although could be the hanger is all buss up.
either way, I impressed myself with that shot and I'm not easily impressed   ;)

A test on ballistic gel with that 225 gr FTX would be interesting!   :geekdanc:

no GP100, SP101, or LCR?  must be a Ruger hater
the video has a Redhawk, which is larger than all the above but does have 8 shots and is much heavier than all the above
but I would definitely buy a Redhawk in 357 if I could find one

Honest Outlaw usually gives pretty good reviews, but he didn't really demonstrate how good the Python is
he couldn't shoot it that well.  he said there were some accuracy issues with the revolver but it's probably him not shooting it that good that's the problem
and he only shot 38sp in the gun.  no 357mag.  I mean who gets a Python and only shoots 38sp???
maybe its just me, but my first range trip with my Python I shot all kinds of ammo up to some heavy 357mag loads.  you got to test it out

MSRP is 1499.  I've seen locally on sale for 1299 recently.

Looks like the gunbroker "BUY IT NOW" ads run between $1295-$1330.

Several auctions are way below that -- some new, some used.  Of course, there are days left for more bidding, so who knows if they will all be much below $1300.  All depends on who's bidding.
