The Wife and I were watching Blue Bloods on Friday at 9 pm and caught these little "items",  wondering how many others caught them

1      Rookie is being taught by Grandpa how to twirl the long nightstick on a lanyard forward and backwards,  Really fun to watch as long as the operator doesn't bonk himself.
Another "cool" thing is doing similar with a 3 or 4+ cell maglight.  Really a  + if the guy can twirl it horizontally coming or going.

2      Rookie and Training Officer are having lunch watching people.  TO tells rookie the guy feeling his coat is packing heat, rookie wants to go get him but told to forget it as the
carrier is a cop.  Must be new to CC if he's touchie feelie about his piece.  Get good gear and you forget it's there.

3      Rookie's older Detective brother is chasing a suspect and drops him using a passerby's umbrella.  Nicely done using umbrella instead of long nightsick or PR-24 Tonfa baton
Done before in William Shater's TV cop show, George Kennedy's  Blue Knight  and Hill Street Blues.

From the Blue Knight, I learned how a big guy gets into a small car.  Good to know when putting on the new small cars.......

Some times TV actually has real stuff in it.

Another gun fact used in this show was Tom Selleck's reference to his characters carry gun.  He makes note that he still carries his grandfathers "Fitz Special."  Sure enough, in one episode where he is required to use it, it is indeed an old wheel gun with the trigger guard cut off.  Nice to see a pro-gun actor stick to proper technical aspects.  Tom Selleck is known to be a die-hard 1911 aficionado.
