I was reading up on this since the last time we met at the meeting. Apparently the course is mostly about how to teach the way the NRA wants you to teach. Then a small portion of actual shooting just to make sure you know which end to point downrange. I may not have been shooting for 20 years but dammit I'm sure I can do that.

Does that mean your in? =P It's the first step, and is one of the goals of the organization. This way if we have instructors we can offer "NRA" education, which meets the states requirements.

I think I'd be great for adding diversity and it would be fun also. I'd like to go for it!. I think I can cover $250. I will find someone to cover for my 12/12 Sunday work before our Dec 3 meeting.
Alex I might have to ask you for that spot training after all  :worship:

Pretty much.  NRA is big on their instructors doing things their way.  The shooting portion of the class is actually there so that you have a chance to administer instruction, under supervision, in actual conditions.  We won't evaluate your shooting skill, we'll evaluate how well you interact with the person that is shooting.  We assume you know which end is the business end.  What we're more interested in is do you practice what NRA preaches.

And do not use the word "weapon."  Each offense may cost you a dollar.
The difference between theory and reality is that, in theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.

Update -- on class.  Cost is 250$ a person if we get the six people. I just had an update, not sure why I didn't ask earlier, the class will run 10th, 11th, 12th, 8-AM - later.  It's about 20-25 hours of class work and 2 hours of range time.
I know multiple days can be deal breakers for some people.  So let me know! ASAP

FT - I am still G2G!  Just need to know the location so I can fill out a DA31 for the dates so I will not be placed on duty.

Location is Honolulu ? Unless you need like a specific address -- if so just say kokohead shooting complex.  We are not sure where we will do the classroom portion at this time.

Uhh. I must've crossed some wires in my brain . I thought you were going to the Dec 3 thing. But I just realized you meant something else entirely. lol.

Well if you're available, there's the meeting on Dec 3 (Fri) at about 6:30pm at the Chucknese Mancave. PM FT or voodoo for the secret knock!  :o
