Just wondering if its possible to cut down spent blanks and reload them.

Why go to all that trouble when on any given day you could pick up 100+ discarded 5.56 brass at Koko Head?  Even without bothering others, there's still a bunch of spent casings in the grass.

Besides, if I recall correctly the 5.56 blanks have a cannelure near the base--if so that might compromise the strength of the casing.
