Just got finished reading, "Alas, Babylon," by Pat Frank.
Found a copy on Amazon after reading "One Second After".  First read "Alas Babylon" while in Jr HS.  Left quite an impression on me.

Fifty year gap in reading a book, that is a near record for me beside "Helmet for My Pillow".

Was not until I had left the Marines and was able to assimilate some of what I had read that it made a lot more sense, even more now with living in the age of Obola and the chaos he has created.

yes this was a good example of the Hollywood people casting a big name actor and then not even following the book.  this is why I am so glad they haven't gotten their money grubbing hands on the AWSOME 2 book series "Day By Day Armageddon" by J.L. Borne  great read and would make a great movie   if you haven't read it you should

Watched "Backcountry" this past weekend.

Graphic, brutal depiction of a bear attack... probably more graphic than the scene in "The Revenant," but something that made me do a bit more reading on bear attacks.

No bears in Hawaii, but still good info to have, should we ever go hiking in Canada or parts of the mainland.

Found BackCountry interesting but slow.
Best Bear movie I've seen was "The Edge" starring Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin.
Anthony Hopkin's character reminded me of a friend all the way thru the movie.
Get it !
