I don't know the validity of this "article" and the website seems a bit askew but damn...I'm working on my Bachelor's and Master's degree and planning on joining the force.

I know it's not comprehensive, but a quick search I did does not show Dateline having a "most corrupt police" section...not saying it doesn't exist, just hat I couldn't find it on a preliminary search....maybe someone wiht better google-fu could find it.....What I do find interesting, and is tangentially related, is that Maui PD let "COPS" film and I have seen several of those episodes. However, the HPD has consistently refused to let COPS film/ride along with them. Again, not saying that proves anything, but I would hazzard a guess that a "corrupt" system would be less likely to put itself under the scrutiny TV would bring.....

its bs.   saw it a while back and couldnt find anything on it.    I mean the article is bs,  MPD corruption not all bs.

saw a low rider truck below Haiku barely miss oncoming traffic, smashed head on into a guardrail.   guy was drunk off his ass bleeding from his head and nose, car basically totaled,  couldnt get out of the front seat without being pulled out..  5-7 cars pull over to call 911 and survey the damage,  a buddy and I went to his aide and also called 911.   2 cops show up and just so happen to know his uncle...  we helped the cops push the truck off the road and onto a side street ("before anyone else shows up", in officers own words).  Then they ask us to give him a ride home.  Declined.

I checked also on google and could not find anything from Dateline saying that. The website seems to have its own agenda...Maui is pretty left-wing.
