Any firearms you bring into Hawaii have to be registered. (except antique and black powder)

If its a bunch of firearms, the best way would be for the old man to take a flight to visit you.

There's no limit to the amount of firearms you can travel with. I've caught flights with over a dozen firearms.

It might even be cheaper than shipping and FFL transfers on a bunch of guns.

Please be advised that, if you have them, don't bring in any "assault pistols", SBR's, SBS's, silencers or full auto firearms.
Your number one Option for Personal Security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.

ok so what your saying is my dad can fly up to PA, and then bring the firearms back with him even if their currently not registered in PA or HI, and then as soon as he arrives in HNL he can go down to HPD and start the process?

What do you mean by "bring down a bunch of firearms"?
Is he giving them to you?  Visiting and bringing them along?

Transferring from FFL's give a paper trail, otherwise shipping them with the airline that he is traveling with may be cheaper. Just check with each individual airline to see their transport requirements.
