So what's the verdict?
(Seems like we are all waiting on verdicts these days! :-D
I too am considering a 1911.
Primarily I am equipped for 9mm (ammo + handguns). But I would like a .45 ACP "option" and heck, I had fun shooting a 1911 before, and it was surprisingly easy to shoot (I was pleasantly surprised).
Having said all this, I have gotten quite a lot of feedback from people over the years that the gun that jams the most is the 1911. And whenever people say that, there will be tons of feedback saying otherwise, and usually saying it is because people screwed around trying to fine tune their 1911s too much, etc.
So, bottom line, I want a 1911 for the "coolness" factor*. Yes I admit it, mainly because I already stated I am tooled for 9mm mostly and indeed I am a "Glock person". So I actually want to consider the 1911 instead of a Glock 21 (.45ACP).
* Not really "coolness" but a 1911 that is good to look at and resembles the legendary .45ACP American icon that it is. And doesn't jam! :-D
