If i am not mistaken all you folks are allowed to carry on your personal property (home or work). Not to be mean or anything but you all act like lil bitchedsabout ccw. If you really truly wanna feel safe learn a martial art or become law enforcement then you can carry all the guns you want. Until then i suggest u all quit your moaning, bitching, and crying....... Except for randomn acts of violence (uesugi, Mau Gofredo, ewa beach stabbing) violent life threatening crimes do not really happen. Really guys you gonna point your lil pistol at some sole who decided to give you a stink eye after u said something stupid to him?
Bottom line is this, THIS IS HAWAII NOT THE MAINLAND... IF YOU DO NOT LIKE OUR CCW LAWS GO BACK TO THE MAINLAND... KEEP HAWAII HAWAII!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aloha Oe, Mele Kalikimaka... Take care and have a safe Holiday Season....
Do you have any inkling of a brain that is able to comprehend what the constitution stands for? This has nothing to do with mainland; this is the United States - brah. We have a *right* to keep and bear arms.
I would encourage you to research Uniform Crime Reports; if you have no clue what I am talking about, then you should probably rethink your comments on how "safe" Hawaii is. You are very likely to be robbed here, you are very likely to have your vehicle or property stolen or your house broken into. We were for the year 2009, 35th in the nation for most rapes. We are not number 1 for safety, in *ANY* topic. However, Vermont, who has constitutional carry is.
There is one statistically proven fact: Open or Concealed carry will only *DECREASE* the current crime rate. Don't like that? Prove me wrong with peer reviewed data, short of that, don't waste your time.
As to pointing a firearm at some sole "who gave the stink eye", see that is your problem actually. You don't have a complete understanding of the use of force and deadly force. You have probably never been trained or taught it either; and you probably are one of the guys who gets all huffy puffy when someone does give you the "stink eye."
In regards to the Superferry, it was the actions of many local groups petitioning, lobbying, protesting (On surfboards and kayaks to block harbor entrances) and various other protesting tactics that made the company realise that Hawaii is a fairly hostile business environment. We all understand that reefs and oceans need protecting, but we could focus on much larger offenders then a vessell pulling in and out of a harbor, especially when it would generate revenue to other states.
The real problem -- is you. You're slightly ignorant, if you were not, you wouldn't be trying to blame the "haole". People should really get the hell out with that type of stuff, this isn't 1960s. Like it or not, many of us are here to stay. This is not your island. It is *OUR* island.
