Really? I didn't know that. What if you had an AK that didn't have a stock?

Wow, for real?

I shoot my AK with stock folded all the time.

Nobody's ever said anything.

Good to know.

Your number one Option for Personal Security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.

Standing up or on a bench?

In any case...........ridiculous.  How is it any different than shooting a scoped pistol?

ive shot a few types of folded stocks on multiple occasions in the past with no problems. scar's,ak side and underfolders, 870 topfolder, a converted saiga12 etc. a very nice 2a member even let a few of us try out a pretty sweet preban ar pistol with a short stroke gas piston so no buffer tube or vfg! that was unique to shoot but still not dangerous.

anyway i started the thread because the other day i got yelled at when my friend and i loaded 6 rounds in a mag and the RSO walks over and yells asking if we know what rule #4 is. confused with what we did wrong i say no not off the top of my head, but that i am familiar with the rules since i come here pretty often nowadays. he huffed and said "guess not ah, u firing 6 shots rule numba 4 says 5 shot limit" i apologized for our honest minor mistake and he shook his head and muttered to know the rules if i wanna shoot and walked away.
after he sat back down i saw him watching over me intently so i decided it was time to clean up since i was kind of finished with my ammo anyway so i cased up all my rifles but one. ive already previously shot it three times with the stock folded since i bought it less than a month ago and i proceeded to do it again for one 5 round mag before i left.

i was seated at the bench and had my two elbows planted as a brace and i was using a 30 round mag as a monopod. i slow fired 4 rounds and just as i squeezed off the fifth i saw the same RSO in the corner of my eye briskly walking towards me again all upset and came over and yelled that there is no shooting like that. i sat there and waited for him to once again cite the specific rule i was breaking, but i wasnt trying to ask for trouble or anything. he just stood there mad like i did it just to spite him since he just yelled at us. i walked over to the board to review the rules and didnt see anything mentioning shooting folded/collapsing stocks or legal ak/ar pistols with no buttstock at all. he was just glaring at me like i was a smart ass so i finished cleaning up and left.

its not like i was hip firing a large caliber firearm while doing some type of movie reenactment, i was just practicing controlled slow fire with the stock folded while seated and properly braced for the massive recoil from a muzzlebraked .223  ::)

i guess removing the stock off my super light 15-22 and adding a new sig stabilizing brace is out of the question huh.

Looks like the person was just watching ya like an eagle after loading 6. They can get angry n yell to ensure it wont happen again but yeah it would be nice if they posted a more visible list of whats we can cant do, and yes they should allow folded stocks when firing since its legal to own here

Hey guys, speaking of rules at kokohead.  I had another question about using pistols at the rifle range.  Correct me if I'm wrong but you can shoot pistols at the rifle range as long as you have a scope on it, correct?  If so, what is considered a scope?  Does a pistol with a red dot on it like a trijicon rmr qualify as being a "scope"?
