Christie may be a bit of a squish as far as gun laws go (not atypical for a northeastern Republican), but at least he has a proper sense of justice.

So from some reports, it sounds like a commuted sentence will still leave Brian Aitken still unable to own a gun. Does anyone know if this is true?

I was thinking the same thing. Any sentence a year or more is a felony, which makes him a felon on paper. Hope it gets sorted out for him.

Good news he is out of jail, and  I hope he can have all his rights restored.

I do not know the specifics of his case, but generally commutations do not restore rights lost on conviction. That, again generally, requires a pardon.

They still get to appeal his case, the legal battle isn't over yet... not with this amount of publicity.
