Opinions on Mossberg 930 semi shotgun

Am wondering if anybody out there has any experience with this series, and if willing to give their thoughts on this.

Great Semi, Reliable, just be sure to check if front sight is straight. Mossberg was mass producing and I guess quality control missed a ton of shotguns that went out all screwed up. When I purchased mine the front sight was welded crooked on the barrel and the magazine tube was bent. I called Mossberg up and there customer service was good, I shipped it back and had it in my hands again with in 3 weeks. I love my shotgun just wish I spent more time looking at it at the store before I purchased. I get kind of impulsive with money and rifle permit in pocket while gun in hand. I have never had a FTF, FTE or Failure to chamber.

Was reading about it awhile back, but others were having initial problems with cycling target/lighter loads and recommending shooting heavier loads to break it in. I had a handful FTF/FTE when shooting high brass, both 2-3/4 and 3 inch shells. From what I recall, I was still having problems after 400 something rounds, currently around 465 at the moment. I haven't shot the gun in a few months, so I can't say exactly if I'm still having issues. I always keep the bolt clean and lightly lubed. I haven't tried to break down, investigate and clean the buffer/spring system seeing if it could help.

Other than that, the gun is soft shooting when compared to a friend's Benelli Nova pump and really fun to rapid fire target loads and low recoil loads.

I run mine dripping wet with oil. Never had an issue with birdshot, buck or slugs. I have fired low recoil stuff and regular.

Bought one from OGC awhile back with the front sight canted. I took it to the range and tried to zero the best I could with just a couple of clicks short of having the rear all the way to the right. I called mossberg and was told by CS that unless they test fired it and the weapon could not be zeroed they would not replace the barrel. Went back to OGC and Carter took care of the problem right away. That is why I will keep buying from them. Anyway, since then I ran the 930 without any problems at all. It feeds anything and is as smooth as butter. My only complaint other than the front sight thing is the finish on the barrel is a little thin. Nothing a little cerecoating can't fix. Bottom line is for the under $700 price you get a lot of gun. Of course it's no benelli but there is a lot you can do with the $500 in savings.

i don't know why his signature series is a semiauto
from the videos i've seen of jerry something, he shoots a pump faster than i would shoot a semiauto

This is what I want  :D

the 930 must be ok if this guy Jerry something uses it ;) http://miculek.com/

well the actual 930 spx he uses has the huge roadblocker brake and exteneded magtubes

this leads to another question to the JMPro model ....does it have some internal work that imrpoves over othe models of 930 spx?

thing with mossbergs is that they have so many versions of the same shotguns with just only a logo slap on it

black water edition= pistol grip 930 spx
thunder ranch version

as for the JM Pro it looks like a remmy versamax.....

I have a 930 JMPro 24" and I absolutely love that gun. Internal parts are chromed, I think the hammer and sear is as well, compared to another 930spx ive taken apart. The trigger break on the JM is way more crisp than the SPX... Id like to think its in the neighborhood of about 2.5~3.5lbs. It has some creep in the trigger, but I like the over travel screw that eliminates all over travel after the break. It eats everything ive ever thrown at it, but i was told that this gun doesn't like Independence ammo. The drilled at tapped receiver is a nice touch as well as what looks to be a GG&G charging bolt and over sized safety.

He also shoots his 930 semi auto faster than I could shoot a full auto shotgun if I had one  :worship:

That family Miculek ... they are some sharp shooters. I did not think the 930 spx could be fired that fast..
