SELLING MY SIG TO A FATHER IN LAW: HELP!!!
« on: July 24, 2013, 06:35:23 PM »
Whats up guys, need a quick reply!!

-would like to ask, my sig sauer is registered in hawaii under my wife's name, fortunately her step father is here on vacation and is heading back to VA on sunday.  Just wanted to know what i need to do in order for him to bring the gun home with him.

does he need to transfer it to his name even if he is going to VA where reg. is not required?

if not, can he just bring it on the plane in his check-in luggage without any problems?

do i need to inform hawaii firearms reg. about the sale & me no longer being the owner?

aloha

He can't legally take possession of it since he's not a Hawaii resident.

The only way I can see it done is you have to send it to a ffl in Virginia.

If your wife went to virginia she could take it it with her and transfer it there.

But I don't know about Virginia laws.
