General Discussion / Merry Christmas
« on: December 24, 2016, 08:40:10 PM »
Just want to wish everyone a Merry and Blessed Christmas. Got the best gift a grandfather could ever get.... my 10year old grandson who was diagnosed with precursor-B ALL leukemia little over three weeks ago was able to come home and receive his chemo as an out patient. His numbers look normal and am praying to Jesus they continue to stay that way....
Once again, Merry Christmas 🎄

General Discussion / Springfield Armory CS

Bought an SA EMP4 1911 lightweight commander 9m from Buds Guns and had it shipped to OGC. Went and got the paperwork on 12/13 to start the "process" next week. This gun comes with a right hand holster, mag pouches, 2 mags and cleaning brushes. Called SA today to purchase a left handed version of the holster. To my surprise they said they would send one for free. Nice! Great "no wait" CS.  :shaka: :D

General Discussion / Unusual?
« on: November 29, 2016, 09:53:24 PM »

Do you think it's  "unusual" for a private handgun seller to ask the buyer for 20% deposit to hold the gun during the registration/waiting period, with the balance to be paid upon delivery?   :D Thanks!

Political Discussion / No Preosecution for the screech eagle

That stinking bi**ch Hillary will slide again. FBI director Comey said no new charges or prosecution as a result of this round of Clinton emails. Looks like Soros, Oscumbag, and the DOJ (specifically that doosh hole Lynch) put the pressure right where it needed to be. Maybe Comey was fearing for his life or he's just a spineless sh*t bag. Well her numbers are gonna jump back up and we just might be grabbing our ankles after Nov 8th. If she gets in, America's finished...... :wtf:

Firearms and Accessories / Very early model 9422 value?
« on: October 25, 2016, 04:33:48 PM »
Need some advice...
I have en early model Winchester 9422 "real" saddle ring model whose serial number is within the first 100 made when they were first introduced. It is in NRA VERY good shape, with the box, leather tassle for the saddle ring, original steel magazine tube and, if memory serves me correctly, I have the original manual (some place). This was the very first one Hon Sport bought in back in the 70's. Yup, it's been shot and  I've owned it since day 1. Winchester is sending me a letter certifying the SN and what # of the first 100 it is.
Now for the million dollar question; what is it worth? Winchester said "alot" but that is all. Any idea where I can go to find out the info OR could anyone give me an idea? I might be interested in selling it.....
Thanks in advance...... :shaka:

General Discussion / Gun Trust in Hawaii
« on: August 16, 2016, 09:33:59 AM »
I’m considering a gun trust mainly to keep HPD’s hands off my firearms when I pass and to make it easier for my wife, who will be executor, to legally dispose of the guns. My estate lawyer told me that HPD can’t touch the guns because they are owned by the trust. Called HPD and those losers are clueless. They danced around the subject but never answered the question; same with the C&C legal yoyo’s. Once thing I did get from both entities is that they don’t seem to like the gun trust since it takes most of their powers away when it comes to the disposal of the collection. I do have to notify HPD that the trust is in effect and provide a copy of the letter once it’s registered with the state. I know there’s someone here who is knowledgeable about gun trusts here in the PRH and am soliciting any advice or knowledge. It’s not that I don’t trust my lawyer since he’s one of the prominent trust lawyers in the state but would just like to get other opinion’s…… Thanks!

P.S. another reason for the gun trust is to keep my wife off the RAP BACK and the hassle of transferring the firearms to both our names. She has been the handgun class and has the declaration of successful completion but would rather bypass all that horse crap. I also have a FFL dealer friend of mine in Fairbanks, AK who is willing to help her also.

General Discussion / Looking very seriously about leaving the country
« on: March 30, 2016, 06:41:02 PM »
Well looks like a decision is about to be made. I've grown tired of how America is turning out, going downhill more and more each day. I served my country for 21 years, took two bullets in 'Nam. I'm done giving, there is nothing left and there is nothing holding me here anymore. I'm shipping all my handguns and AR's to my best friend in Alaska. Our final destination will be Japan where my wife and I own a nice 2br in Minami Azabu, Tokyo. Lived in Japan for 17 years and I am relatively fluent in japanese and can read and write, including some kanji. Whats nice about it all is I received my 9th permit to possess two rifles shotguns, having passed all the exams and today I received my permit from the the Tokyo Metro Police to bring them in (within 6 months). They will hold on to them until my safe arrives (about a month) and is installed in our home and inspected for compliance. I'm also cleared for hunting. Sure, no pistols or AR's but my sanity is more important. Once thing I'm sure of, once I leave I will not come back, just visit my daughter's family in Sacramento, CA.
My ultimate plan is to petition for Japanese citizenship. According to our lawyer in Japan, he said that I can maitain dual but not sure if I will.  My wife is Japanese and her family will sponsor. I will have to take on a Japanese last name (her family's) but will still be able to use my "gaijin" name as well. We'' probably leave sometime in June and will rent our current home here until we decide to sell it and my other rental property. My SSA, Military Retirement, and Civil Service retirement is all good to go, as is my wife's. Will lose medicare but who cares, I still have military benefits and since my wife also collects japanese social security, I can fall under her medical plan.
Tired of living under the thumb of the the village idiot and his minions and the liberal infection here in America. Yes Japan is a social democracy but is peaceful and I truly love it there.......
Thanks just for listening.........

Does anyone know of a gunsmith here in Hawaii that has the expertise to shorten a Ruger Blackhawk barrel from 7.5" to 5.5", crown and refinish the muzzle as well as reinstall the front sight factory specs?
Thanks!

General Discussion / Bad experience at KHSC today...
« on: November 25, 2015, 09:50:37 PM »
Mods, if this is the wrong place to post this, please move, my apologies.....
Grand kids and their parents are visiting from California. Went to KHSC today to teach the kids how to shoot. One is 13 the other 10 and both would be shooting 22's. Prior to leaving for the range I ran both thru the NRA rifle course and went over all the regs for the range had then both read the rules at the range and they signed in. Had my grandson on the line with me directly alongside of him, gun unloaded and was going over sight alignment and, once again, firearms safety. One of the RSO's approached me (the old fart with the grey hair) and asked me how old he was. Told him 10. Then he asked me if he attended the Hunter Safety Course, told him no. I asked why was he asking me these questions since all the conditions for him to shoot had been met IAW the range rules. He said that he needed to attend a hunter safety course to shoot there. Promptly told him that was NOT correct and to show me where it stated that. He started to get a little perturbed about me questioning him and telling him to show me where it said that (he never did). I then advised him that I am a certified NRA instructor in ALL disciplines as well as a former Master Instructor with the Hawaii Hunter Education program (quit in 2007 due to health reasons) as well as being an NRA Certified RSO and RSO trainer and said "is there any more doubt about my quals? Is so I'd be happy to show him my cert card from the NRA. I also told him I do not appreciate him "making his own rules" and that if he persisted with this than his superiors would be contacted immediately. After that he walked away BUT conferred with the other RSO (tall fella with whom I have had previous run in with concerning his attitude and conduct as an RSO. I decided to continue mentoring my grandson. I noticed the tall RSO standing in back of me watching how I was teaching and was probably just waiting for a screw up, which never occurred. After awhile he too gave up and walked away.

What is going on with these two fools? I've heard they are jerks but I refuse to pass judgement until I see it or experience it with my own eyes. After my experience today, it appears these rumors are true. Sure he has a right to ask me how old he is, can I prove he is 10, ensure he is shooting a 22 but goes overboard with the rest. Am I missing something? Per the KHSC website, my grandson met all the age requirements as well as the 22 meeting the firearm caliber requirement and he having him and the firearm under direct control at all times (I directly beside him and crouched down to his level being no more than inches away from the firearm and him at any given time).

Sorry for the long post and it being a little on the rant side but this really has me irked. I plan on writing to the Mayor's office as well and the parks department. I will get the name of the RSO involved and submit it in both letters. Will also have a conversation the Mike Muramoto about this.

Looking for everyone's honest opnion... Thanks! :wtf: >:(
