General Discussion / Re: Is a 20rd mag for a SIG716 illegal?
« on: February 22, 2013, 05:35:51 AM »
We ran into the same problem with Bushmaster.  Just send them a link to HRS §134-8(c) and ask them to run it by their legal dept. The wording of the law is stupid, so in the end they'll likely approve the order because you're ordering rifles.

ETA: http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/vol03_ch0121-0200d/hrs0134/hrs_0134-0008.htm

I sent SIG an email earlier and just spoke with the sales rep, he is going to research it more and run it past his people.  Thanks for the help!

General Discussion / Is a 20rd mag for a SIG716 illegal?
« on: February 21, 2013, 10:34:06 PM »
My command is making a group buy through SIG and one of the rifles we are ordering is the SIG 716. Unfortunately Sig said they do not have a 10rd mag for that rifle and won’t be able to accommodate the order.  I am thinking the mag for the 716 is too large to fit any pistol and shouldn’t fall in the 10rd max category. If anyone has more knowledge regarding this, it would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping Sig can be convinced to ship with the 20 rd mag.

New to the site. Dont currently own anything but am getting a SIG-716 and 1911 very soon. I saw this site when reading about this new BS bill on the ban of assault weapons. Thats it for now, but you will probably see me around, asking questions. Aloha!!! :shaka:

State Legislative Updates Archive / Re: 2013 SB219: Assault Weapons Ban
« on: February 05, 2013, 06:42:55 AM »
5134-B Sale or transfer of assault weapon prohibited. (a)
Any person who, within this State, distributes, transports, or
imports into the State, keeps for sale, or offers or exposes for
sale, or who gives any assault weapon, shall be guilty of a
class B felony.

Any individual may arrange in advance to
relinquish an assault weapon to a county police department or
the department of public safety for disposal, without penalty.

I need some help here... Does this mean if the bill passes we will not be able to go to an FFL and ship our rifles to another State?  :wacko:
