Wish they took the opportunity to come out with something more modular

P365X with Wilson combat grip module, and holosun eps carry dot.  10+1, lightweight, very easy to carry and shoot accurately.

My exact setup

Great points by everyone here.  I’ve carried a Glock 19, P320 and CZ-P01 (compact sizes) along with a Shield and P365X.

I’ve found that I had printed a bit with the compacts and they would get uncomfortable carrying appendix while sitting.  This was prior to getting my CCW here, but I was up on the mainland every so often and would carry there.  I’m sure that given more time, I could have figured out better positions to get it to sit more comfortably.

I wanted to get a subcompact with a manual safety as my youngest was still in the phase of crawling all over my lap and playing with me.  I found the P365X to be just big enough to fit my hand while being very compact and comfortable.  I also like the modularity and choices for future changes.  Picked one up and never looked back.

Most handguns outside of full auto ones will be legal here with 10 round mags.  I’ve had a few SP-01 myself here.

Personally, I think it’s the present and not the future. It’ll be here to stay.  While I do have pistols with no optics, my main handguns that I use and train with all have them.

I do feel closed emitter is the future

I have a P365X that I purchased for CCW.  Ran it through a class with 0 issues.  I like it a lot.

I see Gov. Green’s armed bodyguards pick him up from his condo often.  Will his bodyguards also not carry in sensitive places when with him?  Ah, yes.  They’re above the laws that they create.

Is it fixed?  This is the first time I’ve been able to get into a thread.  Felt weird to get cut off as this is the only place I know of for buy and sell outside of the LGS.

I have a CZ 457 Varmint and love it.  Put it in a Boyd’s at one thumbhole stock but haven’t shot it with that yet.

I’m sure others will beat me to it, but will let you know as soon as we can land an appointment.  Had the wife take the online course and will be doing joint registration on one of my handguns for her to have.

Ooo, I'll add this to the list, thanks!

Good to hear on the P01. Out of curiosity, you ever try a CZ75 or 97?

Not those models specifically.  I had a shadow 2 that I loved.  Really smooth gun.  I also have a SP-01 tactical in urban grey that I admittedly haven’t shot yet.

Like many here, I’ve gone through a few handguns before coming back full circle to the Glock.  Admittedly, I think nearly every other handgun I had felt better than the Glock and I shot several of them better than the Glock, but the sheer amount of spare parts, aftermarket parts, and the amount of Glocks in existence made it my choice as a shtf handgun.

I do still have a P-01 that was worked on that I’ll never part with.  That has to be my favorite compact handgun I’ve had so far.  Feels great and shoots great.

But if it’s the end of the world as we know it, it’ll be a Glock 19 and an AR for me..

General Discussion / Re: Handguard rail systems - what are you using?

I’ll be running mlok for the time being.  I like the weight savings over picatinny.  I have no actual preference with mlok vs keymod and started using mlok only because it is more widely used with more accessories available for it.  I still have a rifle with a keymod handguard.

That's quite a list that you considered sourcing things from.  Maybe half (or less) was available when I was first looking at ARs, which I think was a good thing otherwise I'd be tempted to try more options.  Out of those, I've owned BCM, DD, and LMT, plus Colt.  All excellent quality.  The I had a rifle length LMT MRP and that thing was pretty pricey.  Definitely a quality gun, but I decided to go with reducing weight overall, and that LMT was not light.  I have some Geissele components now too as well.

Can I notice a difference in performance?  With a quality lower budget setup, probably not.  I have observed more issues/failures in components in some of the lower budget components.  That said, I have also seen failures in components from BCM, LMT, Colt, etc.

I feel ya.  Research took months and I looked into nearly every individual part.  A lot of analysis paralysis and ended up building it instead.  Had to figure out what I wanted to accomplish and went from there.

I think as others mentioned, budget and use definitely play a factor here.  That being said, for me personally, I use BCM as the standard and go from there.  Some companies I was looking through with my latest build were BCM, Daniel Defense, LWRC, Sons of Liberty Gun Works, Scionic, Rainier Arms, Geissele, ADM, Triarc, Larue, Noveske, Radian, LMT, and Knights Armament Co.  Many put Knights Armament and LMT in the top tier and Radian is in the talks as well.

That being said, for most, I think any one of those would be fine.  I don’t think my skillset would ever be high enough to appreciate the difference between a KAC and BCM...

Firearms and Accessories / Re: Glock 19 is obsolete
« on: March 04, 2021, 05:37:36 PM »
I’ve run through a few handguns over the years.  Started with Glock and expanded out to S&W, Sig, HK and CZ.  Found I liked my CZs best (Shadow 2, SP-01, P-01), but I went back to the Glock 19 as my go to for basically one reason.  Shtf, I feel parts will be more common.  Other than that, CZ all day for me.
