Reviews / Re: Prime Sports Hawaii
« on: April 07, 2017, 06:07:06 PM »
Alright y'all.

The only two gunshops I go to are SEC and prime sports. I go to SEC to buy handguns, because they are a blue label dealer and they had a really nicely priced spo1. I go to prime sports for the accessories to the firearms I buy. They usually have great prices on Glock components. I've bought anything from night sights to magwells from them and the main guy and his friends/coworkers/?? Are always friendly too. If you ever want to mod your pistols prime sports is the way to go. They can also stipple frames and mill slides etc. So while prime sports may not have a large inventory, they are great with aftermarket support. This is my experience anyhow.

The timing couldn't be better lol that's where I'm moving to in a little less them three months  :wtf:

It's a culture war and Hawaii doesn't have the culture to fight the anti 2a agenda. It just doesn't.

If y'all hate it so much here just move out. Every single last one of us knows that Hawaii is a lost cause. You are a tiny blip of red in a sea of blue. Move to a red state and vote to keep it even more red. It's hard moving for damn sure, but after seeing this rap back horse shit and having to get permission from the to practice my 2a my wife and I decided to move. It doesn't matter how good of a job I have, sacrificing my rights isn't worth it. It's stressful moving when my wife is due two months after we get to TX but I'll be damned if I raise our daughter in a blue state.

The NRA does not care about Hawaii. The 9th circuit ruled based upon emotion and politics.

Some people here spout about x law getting to the supreme Court and that's everything's going to be okay because they said x law was wrong. Doesn't mean anything. The anti gun populace here will continue to elect politicians who will continue to undermine the 2a in whatever sneaky and insidious ways they can.

If takes years for a case to get to the supreme Court. This state can get a law struck down after a 6 year battle, and enact similar legislation, and whole that may also be struck down its the law of the land until then and the legislators know that. And they'll keep doing it.

Long story short, leave and go to a state where your voice will be heard and count. Vote to keep red states red. Hawaii is a lost cause.

A little bit of temporary sacrifice goes a long way towards happiness elsewhere

General Discussion / Re: Marines to use only PMAGS
« on: January 20, 2017, 02:13:53 AM »
I have used PMAGS in USMC m16's and m4's, and never had any issues. I have used GI mags as well, and if my weapon ever did have a feeding issue, it was with the GI mags, weither or not they were new or not.

I cant see anymore then 10% of the population surviving beyond 45 days. Oahu is probably in one of the most precarious situations possible if a major disaster was to go down. Are many folks on Oahu aware of this I wonder?

General Discussion / Re: whoa- sig sauer?
« on: January 20, 2017, 02:08:38 AM »
I am a devout glock fanboy, but I will freely admit that that choosing SIG for big green, and eventually the USMC was the best bet. SIG has really been putting together some revolutionary products and I think they deserve the contact. A lot of the female SNCOS and officers I know in the service are pretty girlish in stature and hand size and this pistol really will fit them better. With women being allowed into combat MOS's they may eventually have their lifes depend upon a better fitting pistol. ( I dont agree with that btw) As much as I love Glocks, Glock really needs needs to innovate. If you do not innovate in a free market you will get out competed just like they did. MY next handgun purchase for CC is actually going to be a czp10c.

I am however dissapointed that more R&D wasn't put into caseless ammunition. How is it that we can go from biplanes and propellor driven aircraft to planes like the f-35 and b-2 in a little over one hundred years but we cant create more efficient and lighter weight ammunition?

General Discussion / Re: New Change in Firearm Paper Work at HPD
« on: December 08, 2015, 12:08:41 PM »
This bullshit is still happening at HPD. Two people were just turned away for not having their docter at straub or kaiser type up some letter. I'm still in this far too long line waiting to apply for my handgun permit and I'm hoping they don't have my doctor? In the military have to type up a letter.

General Discussion / Carbine classes on oahu?
« on: August 29, 2015, 01:34:43 PM »
Does anybody know if anybody ever teaches carbine classes on island? I would definitely like to try to get in on one if at all possible.
If it makes any difference the carbine I'd use is an ak.
Thanks for the info! :shaka:

Firearms and Accessories / Pinned ak folding stock?
« on: August 21, 2015, 09:19:24 PM »
Just got a new arsenal slr106fr from an awesome trade and when I got home I noticed the button to fold the stock was missing. The hole hadn't even been drilled for it. It looks like arsenal installed a folding stock that doesn't even fold! It has the hinge and the cutout on the buttstock as it should.

The muzzle also has what appears to be a muzzle cap installed as well.

Is this a ban model or something? It also looks like a royal PIA to replace the fake folding stock too.

Anybody know any gun smiths?  :geekdanc:

Bet we'd get arrested for that out here lol

General Discussion / Re: Will suppressors ever be legal in Hawaii

No chance. The hunting culture that would push for them is, for all intents and purposes, non existent

After I get back to Oahu I plan on applying on a permit to acquire. Because apparently even though I acquired my scar already, in California, I have to re acquire it out here. I've heard I can have it shipped to my place and its no big deal, but the hpd firearms office gal said it had to be shipped to an ffl and re acquired so I'm gonna play it safe and go that route.

So, my question is this. I'm in the military and don't really have a doctor. I have medical I can go to but its just corpsman there. So do I just say no doctor on the application? Would hpd cry about that and deny the permit cause they can't talk to my doctor? And how do they access my mental health if I don't have a psychiatrist?

Long story short, just curious about a military member in specific getting a permit to acquire.

Thanks!!

So the supreme court just went ahead and said it was OK for jurisdictions to go ahead and ban assembled firearms in the house for self defense.

So not only can you not carry outside of the home in certain jurisdictions, but now you can't even keep an assembled firearm in the house for home defense.

Oh, and hollow points are also evil and are OK for jurisdictions to ban.
