good conversation from another thread.
http://2ahawaii.com/index.php?topic=10582.0 "Enclosed container" means (
http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrscurrent/Vol03_Ch0121-0200D/HRS0134/HRS_0134-0023.htm )
- a rigidly constructed receptacle,
- or a commercially manufactured gun case,
- or the equivalent thereof that completely encloses the firearm
Members reported getting different answers from different people (trainers, RSOs, LGS employees, LEO, etc) and there was a lot of discussion.
What is an enclosed container ? ( As defined above, includes equivalent thereof )
Is a guitar case legal ?
Briefcase ?
Pretty much, for sure, a commercially manufactured gun case is legal. ( Soft or hard )
What else ?
I got a cordless drill case I want to modify to hold a pistol.
Seems legal as it's a rigidly constructed receptacle.
( of course transport will only be to and from legal places )
