For me and what I am normally looking for it's between OGC and Security Equipment.

OGC has the best every day prices. Better than most other stores' sale prices. So I voted for them.

I did, however, get a good deal on a Saiga at Young Guns right after the black rifle panick. Seems like that is a rare occurrence though.

I've seen and taken advantage of good deals at Security Equipment, GunSource, OGC, Sports Authority.

Honestly the best deals to be had are at Sports Authority.

When they have their sales there is no better price on the planet.

I got a brand new Ruger 10/22 for $209 and they gave me a $25 gift certificate.

I got a brand new CZ Ringneck shotgun for $699 and they gave me a $100 gift certificate.

I also picked up a Remington 870 express 12 gauge for $229 and they threw in a $50 gift certificate.

OGC used to have a brand new Glock 22 for sale for $400.

Gunsource sold me a used S&W model 10 38 special in pristine condition for $200.

I bought a Remington 11-87 Police 12 gauge with ghost ring sights for $675.

I think that most (not all ) of the gun stores have great deals if you go there enough to check.

The moral of the story is visit gun stores as much as possible.  :D

OGC got the best deals, sign up for their tweets from Twitter, it's like getting a phone call from Carter about a deal.  Hope they can continue the good pricing with their new shop and increased overhead.

I noticed that Sports Authority isn't on your list.  So, guess I can't vote!

It's been my experience that there is no store here with consistently "best deals."  Each has something that the others lack, each runs their own specials.  Well. each except Magnum.

I think anyone who proclaims "Bob's guns has the best prices and that's as far as I bother to go" is doing Bob a huge favor and themselves a huge disservice.  I won't shop at Magnum, they worked hard to see to that.  I've yet to go to OGC, but hope to remedy that mañana.  The others, I circulate between whenever I am in the neighborhood.  If I am looking for something specific, I pick up the phone and call them all.  And, I can tell you after about 13 years of doing that here, there is no consistent winner.  All of 'em have their good days, and all of 'em don't.

If it were purely based on friendship, Kaneohe Gun Shop would get all my custom.  Daniel cuts his prices to the bone for me.  But, sometimes cutting to the bone isn't as good a deal as what Young Guns has in their used case, or Gun Source has on sale.  And no one but no one touches Sports Authority's prices when they run sales.  So I have friends, and I like gun shops, but as has been said earlier, I vote with my wallet.

How does magnum stay in bussiness?  There prices are like $250 over most shops.  Who would shop there?

Magnum has the contract with HPD.  They don't need us.

I've never bought a firearm from Sports Authority yet but when their 7-1/2 and 8 12 gauge ammo or 9 mm target ammo goes on sale for 20% off, I stock up.

Like Tom, I also call around when looking for something specific. So far I've only bought firearms from OGC.

The one time I bought a rifle from Sports Authority on Ward, the kid was a super ass. lol. Sighing loudly, moping to the back room, complaining to his co-workers about having to do more paperwork, etc. But.......I didn't care. Just a random big-name employee that I won't see again! They tend to have new people over there every time I check the firearm section out so I guess they have a high attrition rate.

Gotta start looking out for their sales!

I own a gun shop and I've bought guns for myself at Sports Authority.  The big box national chain combined buying power is hard to beat sometimes.  You just have to watch for the deals and know what the going prices are.

It must be what they look for when hiring. When I stopped by Waikele for some .357 @25% off, the kid I interrupted asked "ho brah, you hunt peeeg too?" And of course they were sold out.

It's true that the big box prices are hard to beat, but there's always the fine print. That usually reads *Limited Quantities or *Promotional Pricing, meaning each region has 'x' number at that price. They call it advertising to get people in the door...I call is BS and dishonest, because when the run out they always have 'similar' items at regular prices being pushed by the sale people.

Gotta agree with the obvious OGC, Sports Authority and Sequrity Equipment... As for Magnum, I go there to see the firearm in person than order it at OGC...   ;D

i hope some of the other gun shops take note of this thread and at least make an effort to compete.  It's pretty ridiculous when ONE dealer blows the rest away this badly.  I called KGS and their steel/aluminum cased ammo is the same price if not more expensive than brass cased stuff ogc sells.  Incredible!
