OGC will have .22LR ammo in about 30 days:

REM HV GOLDEN BULLET ALREADY INCOMING $450/5000

Right now, pre-orders for full case taken.

I put my order in early this morning!

Now, to see how much of my current .22 stash I can expend in 30 days!

Try to look at it like life insurance.  You paid a premium for the peace of mind knowing you have ammo set aside should another panic hit.
And, just like life insurance premiums, that's all money under the bridge...
But seriously, when I bought ammo as the price was dropping, I knew it could be $50 less the next week or it could become non existent for the rest of the year. Well the price dropped and I don't regret my decision because yes I have ammo and the price I paid is now "under the bridge". :)

Ever hear of the dollar-cost-average method of buying stock?  The same for ammo.

If you buy 4 cases of the same ammo over the course of a year, and the price drops $50/case each time, and you paid $450 for the first case, then you'd have spent:

$450 + $400 + $350 + $300 = $1,500

Average cost per case = $1,500 / 4 = $375

Moral of the story:  If you are going to use the ammo eventually, buy more whenever you find if for less than you previously paid.  It helps lower the average cost of all your ammo!

No matter how much you or I leave on the shelf for "the next guy," there are never enough boxes for all the "next guys" before more ammo arrives.

There has been a huge uptick in firearms purchases the last 3 years.  There has also been a huge increase in ammo prices the last 2 years.

Add that together, and the demand for .22 ammo (more shooters wanting to find the cheapest caliber for practice), and there is going to be much more demand, and obviously the suppliers have not been able to keep ahead of it.

It's also a fact most people shooting .22 will go through much more ammo in the same amount of time as 9MM, .45, .40, .223/5.56, etc, due to (1) price, (2) less physically demanding to shoot for long sessions, and (3) most people have more .22 to take to the range because people tend to buy .22 in larger amounts since we can afford to.

$300 for 6 bricks of .22 =         3,000 rds
$300 for 9mm @ $0.25/rd =    1,200 rds
$300 for .45 @ $0.50/rd =            600rds

Yeah, most people buy more .22 and shoot more .22 than other calibers if they like to shoot those .22 guns.  That's obviously not 100% of shooters, but I think it does represent a majority.

Let me guess.  You haven't figured out that living on an island means you can't always find everything you need in stock when you really, really need it, especially when so many people wait until the last minute to stock up on things like water?

yeah water is life or death. ammo is not. hoarding thousands of rounds when u know you aint going use it all within a decent amount of time is uncool especially rounds that are in shortage. the guys i know who have 10k rounds of 22lr will have to shoot 100 rounds a day on sat and sun for 1 year of constant shooting. now if you do that much than fine but if you only shoot like 1000 for the year let other have a share of that 9000. be nice to your fellow shooters  :shaka:

Nope not me, unless you live in a high condo or appartment building. Got Clorox, filters & just fill up the 55 gallon plastic drums all gggg. Depends where you live if you really need to worry about water not flowing.
After the two hurricanes water wasn't really impacted.
Where I live in town, crazies were buying water and TP. Next valley over bros where buying ice and liquor... Lol My kinda people....
Gotta laugh when people don't got common sense or surivial skills.
But admit I'm a gun & ammo nut when deals presents itself.

You guys should take economics - it was the most influential class I've taken in college.
This is a free market
This is not Russia.
This is not China
This is "Merica!
I have the freedom to buy as much ammo as I can afford. Supply and demand are the forces that drive this market.
