Very good job, Messrs. Gerwig and Richter. My question (submitted via email) that didn't make the cut:
"Mr. Carlisle mentioned the presence of crystal methamphetamine in Hawaii as a basis to continue to restrict issue of concealed carry permits in Hawaii. My question: does he think a crystal meth addict, or dealer, is currently discouraged from carrying a firearm because he doesn't have a permit? And as a follow on, if Hawaii transitions to a "shall issue" policy, will that addict or dealer go through the process to obtain a carry permit before committing a crime with a firearm?"
I would've LOVED to hear his answer to that. Messrs.Carlisle and Louie both showed their rabid hoplophobia tonight…
Also, did Mr. Carlisle perhaps open himself up to a slander suit by stating categorically that Christopher Deedy got "shnockered"? Did I miss where they proved that in court, or presented any actual credible evidence that he was drunk?
