just picked up a colman single burner for $20, and will go green can shopping tomorrow.
Picked up a ecozoom dura rocket stove as my primary cooking device because in Hawaii it will cost you 4 times as much to make your own rocket stove Nice pile of firewood that needs to be stacked this week
Pool guy still out of 78% hypochlorate...might have to settle for 73-75%, which is good enough.
Batteries should be on lock, but might need another head lamp.
Was gonna pick up a water BOB, but decided to bleach the hell out of the trash cans again and just let the Gods of rain fill up my containers for free.
Just gotta make sure first aid is replenished and I should be good to go.
A few changes after tonight...
- Cancelled the order on the coleman and rocket stove; figured they wouldn't get here in time (being that the storm arrives over the weekend
) and luckily found my old camper stove. I have tons of cinder blocks, so I will just make a makeshift rocket like this:
Only change I will make is add another block on top to increase the chimney to 12in, as you want the length to be 3x the diameter of the hole.
- Still no luck finding 78% hypochlorate, and all they have is 63%. Was disappointed to hear that they have no idea what the EPA suggested minimum % is for purifying water is, but I guess it's not something everyone should know, thoughh everyone should know it that works at a pool chemical supply
- If any of you are planning on going to Wally World to restock your first aid, may the odds be ever in your favor. Essential medical stuff was completely wiped out in Ke'eaumoku, and water was nearly gone.
