What happened to freedom and Democracy. 80% support Halloween, and they still cancelled it in the school.

Diversity is not a thing.  It's the noun form of the adjective:  diverse.

DIVERSE:  showing a great deal of variety; very different.   "a culturally diverse population"

Diversity is always preceded by another adjective:  "racial", "cultural", etc. whether or not it's printed/spoken.  You know from context what was implied.

If you disagree, then fill in the blank:

Halloween celebrations need to be cancelled because the activities do not include an adequate variety of ____________________ .

Costumes?
Religions?
Ages?
Genders?
Candys?
Monsters?
Liberal Heroes?

You can't say something has too little diversity and not have in mind what that opinion is based on. 

Here's the key:  What do the 20% who don't participate have in common?

Maybe a lot of poor kids who can't afford cool costumes like the other kids and would be ridiculed so administrators nixed it ?

Once I dressed up as a construction worker since I work in the industry and have all the proper safety gear. Everyone thought I was part of the Village People.

In fact there's a bunch of different kinds/sects of Muslims from all over the world.
Eastern Europe, Middle East, Southeast Asia, east Africa, Philippines etc..
