I was not going to devote a large amount of time to an issue that one person showed up for, when there were others there for U.S. Senator Schatz presentation, or the Nextera takeover, and other issues. That's just how things are."
The impression seems to be that we as gun owners don't care that much to do anything. I personally don't think that is the case. That is why I believe that no matter how one feels about NRA, HRA, or HDF (some my not like the activities, people who attend, etc) it is so important that everyone that owns a firearm or likes or supports the shooting sports, whether for sport or defense or other, should join both the HRA & HDF.
These are two local organizations that directly look out for and try to defend our 2A rights right here in Hawaii.
We live in a gun unfriendly state. I recently read that there are more guns in Hawaii then people.
Just imagine if all the owners were members of both organizations. I'd like to believe that the politicians would take notice since we are also (i hope) a voting block of the population.
While the monetary contribution helps these organizations, having all gun owners in Hawaii united, banding together for the same cause, makes people take notice. As long as we are all independent or small loosely organized groups we are not considered a force to be reckoned with by the politicians or others.
Just my opinion. Not trying to offend anyone or start a pissing match.
and yes, I am a member of both HRA & HDF
