The One place I'd Seriously consider Moving to:  http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/ad-gun-training-bars-muslims-obama-voters-153954962.html

Seriously?

Didn't someone write an article here not that long ago about the racist origins of gun control?  Isn't this the same forum where we have people arguing that EVERYONE has a fundamental right to bear arms?  This as just as valid as an employer deciding that you are not qualified for your job because you own a gun, and they are afraid you will shoot up the place 'like those other psychos'.

Mr. Keller can deny service to anyone he likes, but I honestly hope that he does get his instructors license revoked as I would not want to take ANY course from that man.  Granted he probably wouldn't want to teach me either since I'm politically neutral, Asian, and agnostic.

Personally, I'm opposed to government intervention in private businesses as a general rule.  Obviously, the sunset communities of bygone years require the government to step in, but this isn't an example of that.  If this guy doesn't want to do business with people because of their race, sex, color, or creed, he should be able to do that.  Someone else will pick up the business he doesn't want.  If nobody is picking up that slack, let me know, and I'll go to Texas and start up a Sharia-compliant firearms training center.  That's the basis of the capitalist system, and the beauty of it-it's self correcting.

Why do you want his license revoked?  Do you have some reason to believe that he teaches his students improperly or unsafely?  Or is it that you want Big Brother to go beat up the guy who was rude to your friend, so to speak?  My point is, the purpose of his license is to ensure that when someone graduates his class and applies for a CHL, they have received the requisite training.  He shouldn't be forced to provide training to anyone he doesn't want to; he's running a private business.  If we're going to force him to provide training to people he doesn't want to provide it for, should we also force him to hold X number of classes per week?  Should we revoke his license if he relents on the liberal/Muslim thing, but then cancels a class to attend a funeral?  When should he be allowed to retire, if at all?

I'm less opposed to his running a business and more opposed to the hypocrisy involved.  In my mind the idea that  "You have already proven that you cannot make a knowledgeable and prudent decision under the law" is a case of the pot calling the kettle black.  The fact that he believes you CANNOT be a responsible gun owner with fitting this list of requirements, makes me question his credibility as an instructor and the quality of the course.  Then again I'll admit I'm biased having run into many similar individuals during my time in Colorado.

Hypocrisy?

The practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform; pretense

So how again is this an instance of hypocrisy?

My mistake, that was a poor choice of words on my part.  I should have used arrogance.

yeah, he might be arrogant but that's not a reason to revoke his license.  I personally applaud anyone who is willing to speak their mind, right or wrong, in a world where everything has to be PC.

That brings up my question of why everyone here feels this is a good thing.  Is is purely the above opinion that those willing to speak about an admittedly controversial position should be applauded or is there more to it then that?

It's one thing to defend this guy's right to run his business with ignorant racist doctrine. It's another to fucking celebrate it.

Thanks for risking your life in our military, soldier. Too bad, if your wife wants to learn how to use a gun to defend herself and your children while you're fighting in Afghanistan, she better not come to this here Texan establishment. We're God-fearin' Uhmuricuns here.

Defending someone's legal right to discriminate is not the same thing as defending him from moral condemnation. If you do the former, you're defending his freedom. If you do the latter, you're defending his prejudice.

Quite frankly, I'm really disappointed by some of the commentary here.

Hahaha, I knew there would be another agnostic come to the rescue.

As far as "celebrating" Tex goes,
I think it's great in this age of "politically correct, neutral, I don't believe in God, let me medicate my children, pot smoking, homosexual loving, pacifists" that one man is willing to say no, I'm not going to accept it.

If he only wants to instruct republican, Christians then so be it.

If you don't like it... Don't take your CCW course with him.

It's funny how if someone says  "I don't believe in God, voting, marriage, or obeying the law"  this person is celebrated as some kind of hero, but if someone believes in God, country, marriage and voting, he's a simpleton redneck.

This type of situation is what makes America, America.

Your intolerance of this guy is the same as his intolerance of Muslims. (that is the meaning of "Hypocrisy)

Explain to me exactly how my morally condemning the guy while defending his right to run his business the way he wants to is hypocrisy, King.
