Well, I'm not sure that poll takes into account the possibility of Trump stealing votes away from Cruz, if Trump goes independent.

That's the big concern.

I'm just wondering why people here support trump. Because he will get rid of Isis and terrorists in the US is not valid since he has not laid out any reasonable plan to do this. Just saying you're going to bomb the hell out of them is not a strategy. Sure being on the Republican ticket, he probably is more pro 2nd amendment than the dems but are you really going to vote for commander in chief of the US based on 1 policy? At that, it's 1 policy that you aren't even really sure that he supports since trump changes his mind all the time. My thoughts are that he is an unreliable loose cannon that is unpredictable and most likely running for his own selfish gains. Those assuming that a Clinton presidency will lead to mandatory gun buybacks...didn't they say the same thing about Obama?

The biggest thing Trump has going is he is strong in economics.  I'd rate the economy and debt as higher priorities than defense.  If the nation has no money to pay the military, then there is no military.

How is he strong in economics? I believe his comprehension of international macroeconomics is limited and his temperament makes it downright dangerous. If you believe is he an excellent business man then you need to delve deeper into his business activities. He consistently touts his wealth and his business acumen with little substation except "i'm doing very well."

In my opinion there is more to all this than just supporting one policy. He has actually come out with a few policies on his website. I agree with most of what he proposes. I still would not normally vote for him. But I will because he will be the Republican candidate. Not because of his policies. It does scare me that we don't know what he is going to be like when he gets in office. I will vote for him because I would rather take a chance with him than to vote for that lying, criminal, murderer Hilary or the known Socialist Bernie. We already know what Hilary and Bernie are going to do if either one gets into office. She and Bernie ARE that bad that I feel the need to take the chance with Trump hopefully to change the direction this country is going in with a Democrat president. It really is a matter of all of the Democrat policies that I despise that puts me into the position of wanting to take a chance with Trump. Everyone says at least Hilary and Bernie are known entities. We know what they are going to do. And that is the point in all of this. We know what they are going to do. We got a taste of it with our current president. We know they will continue with the direction we are currently going. Or worse if Bernie gets in IMHO. So that is why I am going to vote for Trump. Not because he is great, but because the other choice is really really that BAD. JMHO

If my memory is correct, and in this case I believe it is, the Democrats with their usual lies (including Barrack Hussein Obama) that Obama is not coming for our guns and that he won't even try to enact any type of gun control. Technically, he can't enact any gun control laws, that is done by the power of Congress but he does hold great influence on what his party attempts to pass through the House and Senate. After several mass shootings he did push for universal background checks and several other measures that were immediately stripped from any bill. Whether you interpret Universal Background Checks as a from of gun control is also up for debate. Anything that was voted on was crushed in both houses of Congress. In fact, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, a gun control advocacy group, graded Obama with an F for his stance on gun control.

True, that Obama was relatively new to politics but I don't believe a vote for him is akin to voting for the unknown Trump. Obama made some policies clear on what he was pushing for. And yes, with any politician, he reversed course on some when he entered office and those are pinned as his lies (e.g. healthcare reform). But Trump isn't just unknown he's unpredictable. He policies change from day to day. I'll admit that I am guilty of not reading the policies on his website, but my concern is what's the point? What I read as his policy could change the very next day depending on who's he giving a speech to.

take out the word "misogynistic" and replace "trump" with "obama" and those are words ring true with many here

Look, I get that a lot of people on here don't like Obama. I'm not trying to debate his failures or policies. That would take a whole different thread. My curiosity is really trump. Heck, Trump may turn out to be the most anti-gun president ever. You never know....

I will vote trump for your very reason you are hesitant.  I'll take "you never know" over guarantee loss of our rights.....    His wild card unpredictability is a advantage in all areas of concern, IMO.  That will give people, even our enemies, a pause.  This country needs a change, and that is exactly what he is, a huge departure from the status quo politics.

You may be underestimating or even overlooking the effect that millions of people had on Obama, to cause a DELAY on the buyback. There were countless actions taken, including buying tons of guns and ammo (they called it the Obama stimulus), tons of media articles, posts, YouTubes, etc. etc. etc. and that could have given the administration pause.

The only reason why we are not all armed with butter knives because of obama is that we controlled  congress and the house.  Now if shillery wins the bid and there is ANY change in the house or congress you can bet its all over for us.
