Yes it's possible.

The electors are not bounded by law to vote the way they "promised" to vote.

I had kept this in mind during the election but forgot about it until you brought it up just now.

Some people say it is the final "fail safe" to ensure that the people don't elect the presidents that the one's "really" in charge, approve of.

The electoral college sucks, but what sucks even more is if you listen to the liberal media defending it even though it caused them to lose. It's a mechanism to control the people and make sure true democracy is not possible, which is why they would never abandon such a powerful tool even in the face of defeat. The idea of "deplorables" choosing their own leadership is much too frightening.

January 6, 2017

The Congress meets in joint session to count the electoral votes. Congress may pass a law to change this date.

Check out the video. What struck me is, WTF are they talking about, an "anonymous" elector?!

I have heard before that military votes from overseas can come in late sometimes. This could change things theoretically but the military usually leans republican as I understand it.

And just for background here are a few good videos on the electoral college.

Some media orgs are floating around the possibility of so-called republican electors not voting for DJT.   Seems like the media is trying to incite radicals to create chaos in this country.
I don't trust how Clinton conceded so early and Obama acting cordial today.  Both of them are treacherous and inherently evil.   Hope that the real October surprise is not a December surprise.
I believe if this happens or for any reason DJT is not inaugurated 45th POTUS, the schemers who pulled this off have just moved this nation to a April 1861 scenario.  History does repeat itself.
Just in case, hope Trump has a plan B and plan C.  B being getting Hill & Bill and others in the Clinton Foundation indicted or recommended for indictment  due to racketeering.   C being setting up a provisional national government until January 2017.   Some people might describe this as a coup.

The EC not confirming Trump as POTUS will lead to civil war, plain and simple.

Congress meets Jan. 6 to approve the electoral college vote, and would certainly vote to void any roguery, handing the victory firmly back to Trump.

The topic article states that a rogue voting result can be nullified by Congress after the fact, so there should not be much concern. The popular vote has to be counted as a matter of principle. They need to publish the voting numbers for each state to prove the result, and anyone can add the numbers together themselves.

I'm not sure the electoral college is a bad thing. If the whole country had one set of laws then yes it would be bad. But because we are made out of allied states and each state is allowed to govern itself somewhat, there is some logic behind the idea of having states vote for the president, and not the people directly. What the electoral college does is prevent states from casting a "I'm not sure" vote when the popular vote in that state is close. States must make up their mind.

I never disagreed with the ECV, but I must admit, those videos explained a little more than I knew.

Which is why democrats traditionally try and disqualify those ballots if an election is tight.

From what I read out of curiosity about absentee/overseas ballots is that they are traditionally not counted for the initial state tally.  If the result is within the state margin of difference, then they count them.  Democrats fight this as they apparently lean Republican 67-33%, so they are usually dangerous.

That they have not been counted is why so many are saying no way did Hilliary win the popular vote.  Potentially many thousands of Trump votes not yet counted.  Dunno if they ever tally them or just call it a day.

His lead in the electoral is too massive to overcome.  Trump is the President elect and will get sworn in.  People need to and will get over it, one way or another.

So happy my county is not among those, not that it stopped them from voting democrat. 

Liberals on the west side are in a frenzy as it is that about 40% of west Hawaii voted for Trump.  They cannot handle it.
