It is also essential that people should start to collect DIY books, medical books, military survival books, self-defense, farming etc.
Cannot take it with you on a bug-out but for your base camp a must have.

For your bug-out
Store them on your documents file or video files on your iphones and portable hard drives or thumb drives.
I use a WD that is just slightly larger than a credit card.

Now above all things...pray for your survival.
Many scoff at what Christians people talk about, but the end days that they talk about is truly horrifying. It started when Israel became a Nation.
The tribulation will be the mother of all oppression. The anti-christ will behead many who do not worship him.

Everything POINTS to this era.

The Mayan calender and several others like it was not talking about the end of the world, but the ending of an ERA.
Add that with the Christian prophecies,  the Muslim prophecies,  the new age 5th dimension "Age of Aquarius" + Nostradamus,
we are in the ERA of era's.

Well where there is smoke, there is fire, something is happening, conspiracy theory or not.

The biggest evidence is, why is the government preparing for it? Bullets anyone? Many nations in upheaval but they call it spring, Hollywood talks about it.

Crap and debris is all over, waiting for the spark that will lite everything up in flames.

No one wants to talk about it, but you can feel it.

The bible says that it is so bad that it warns, "woe unto those with suck."  Translation = very bad time to have a baby.

But pray and pray often because the bible says that if you should die, YOU can still live by looking to Jesus
and do not be afraid of those that can kill you here on earth, FEAR him who can throw you into HELL.

sorry, but the truth hurts.

You said it.  +1000!

Books are heavy. I've been constantly switching my book library to digital books stored in a dedicated Kindle backlit epaper e-reader device (the cheap one with low power consumption and months of battery life). I store this and a portable solar charger into a small water-proof faraday cage with the plan that it will survive an EMP attack. I probably should pick up a second set, which in effect, doubles my book library without adding a lot of weight and space.

I think, therefore I am armed.

I'm more worried about an invasion by our own government, then from an invading force from China or Russia.

and "they" are already hear umm, I mean here.  It would be too easy to lock us down island by island.

Assault Rifle? What I have here is an Anti-Assault Rifle.

No idea how many veterans with combat and/or marksmanship training live here, but suspect it is not minor.  My neighbor is a Korea vet, VN for me.  None of us olde fartes are up for running hills, but we do know basic formations, cover, and manuerver.   Not shock troops, but a force to be reckoned with.

Q: Who wrote "Maneuver Warfare"?  And is the 48 Strategies of War book, the 33 Strategies of War book by Robert Greene?

All they gotta do is blockade our ports and wait till we starve ourselves.   Then our leaders will be begging for mercy and give the keys to the city.  Then the insurgency will begin! :shaka:

WOLVERINES!

Hahaha, at least I got the reference since I saw that movie a few months back.

Folks, this is a very interesting discussion with many points of view and good support for them.

Mostly I would say, let's not fight the last war. The New War will be totally unlike anything that anyone imagines. The technology and tactics are all new, and even the politics are all new. And by that I even mean, new and untried.

I'll give you an example I can think of just randomly: China uses a holographic projection system to beam either a) aliens b) Christ or c) Buddha, to tell everyone to do XYZ or just generally freak them out. While you are watching this amazing illusion in the sky, your eyes are blinded by laser dazzlers.

So, there you have it. Game over. And that's just China. Russia also wants in on it. And the whole global chessboard is constantly being reshuffled.

I would say, an invading force will NOT nuke Hawaii if they want to invade the mainland USA, and thus want to use HI as the staging area (which would be awesome for them as an "unsinkable aircraft carrier"). Of course that also opens them up to being nuked in turn.

Right now, I just learn everything I can. About everything. DIY this and that. And not just to "prep" but also it is fun. Like understanding how an AR works. That is interesting in and of itself. And making friends in the community. These things we can do, AND ENJOY, without necessarily worrying out what is coming. I agree SOMETHING is coming but dunno what. And in fact we should enjoy the ability to learn so much stuff, mostly for free!, while we still can.

BTW if the dazzler scenario ever happened, just use your smartphone cameras or other video camera to "watch" what is going on.

Only thing I know is that a LOT of VERY WEIRD STUFF has been happening in the world in the last few years.

Environmental, political, economic, etc.

There is nothing of geo-strategic value in Hawaii worth invading for. Even in WW II the Japanese didn't bother. In addition, it is the farthest land mass from any continent, making resupply of troops a very difficult proposition against even token opposition. Lastly, and most importantly, the last country that conducted a military action against Hawaii got NUKED... TWICE!!!

Oil: no
Uranium : no
Rare Earth Minerals: no

The only successful invasion in Hawaii is the Coffee Berry Borer beetle.
