I just got Glock Blocked!!!
« on: July 14, 2017, 02:34:47 PM »

Checked with vacations Hawaii. They are no longer accepting any firearms on flights. New policy.

Called OMNI HQ. They said it is up to Vacations Hawaii. "They are the final authority"

Lesson learned don't book with Vacations Hawaii if you want to bring your firearms.

Check with airline before departure, and I was all worked up with about TSA.

I can't carry my guanine this BS state now I can't leave without it.

I sent a message to the TSA asking if the travel agent can do this.  Omni Air states on their website that firearms are allowed.  I don't know if a travel agent can set such a policy.

This seems similar to the court ruling that employers can't ban weapons stored in employees' vehicles parked in the employer's parking lots.  Doing so disarms the employees during their commute, something the employer doesn't have the right to do.

Vacations Hawaii is denying you your legal right to carry, train with, or enjoy sport shooting with your firearms after you reach your destination.

The answer from the TSA should be within 48 hours.

Not sure why another topic was created, but both Suka and I said as much in your previous post: https://2ahawaii.com/index.php?topic=28335.0.

The problem is not with TSA, Omni, or Vacations Hawaii (Boyd Gaming).  Booking a travel package through a tour operator (not a travel agent) that uses a private chartered flight and you're stuck with "their property, their rules".  You should request a refund and take your business elsewhere. If you're offered anything less than a full refund because you signed their tour contract, demand it under HRS 468L-7(1) because their failed to disclose their firearms policy.
Reason obeys itself; and ignorance submits to whatever is dictated to it. ~Thomas Paine

TSA replied to my message.  They punted  >:( ...

The situation I described is not within the jurisdiction of TSA.

The age of customer service has been over for a long time, especially with government-related services.  One would expect a helpful hint as to whose jurisdiction this does/may fall under, so I can pursue that.

"Not my job" is becoming the slogan for too many agencies these days.

I believe you do have the option of mailing guns to yourself without going through an FFL.  If you have a local address at your destination, you might consider that.  It'll cost a few bucks for shipping, but it might be a wash if Vacations Hawaii wants a cancellation fee.

Yep, their flight, their rules. TSA has nothing to do with it.  Constitutional rights are only between people and the government.  Not between people and private businesses.  Like businesses with "gun free zone" signs.

They are not an Airline, but a private charter service.

All casinos & titty bars dont allow firearms on property, u have to check them with security. If u refuse the ask u to leave.

However, its not illegal to carry in a casino. If ur ccwing then they will never know...

The Cal and Main Street Station have signs on the casino entrances now stating firearms are not allowed on premises.  Still, I stayed at MSS when I went to Front Sight.  Firearm in a locked box in a backpack in a hotel room ... no problems.  I'm sure the intent is to prevent concealed firearms.

Apparently, Clark County used to have a law banning concealed carry even after the state passed a law to allow it.  Within a year before I went to FS, the state passed another law saying no county can override the state.  CCW is now legal in Clark County.

So, while the county made CCW illegal, the casinos were covered.  Now that the county no longer can, the casinos are availing themselves of their right to ban firearms.

That's my take on it, anyway.

Ccw permits used to be county specific, now its  state wide.

Only places u cant ccw are public schools (unlv included), federal buildings, court houses, day care centers.

Hotels are private property like cheesecake factory. They will just ask u to leave or place gun in car.

Yes, a number of hotels in the Las Vegas area do have dogs for patrol & detection. Some are explosive detection, some are actual "police patrol" trained, there are even a few dogs that are trained to detect bed bugs.

Even though there are no specific threats, the casinos are adding K9s to prevent terrorist attacks and other crimes involving explosives.

He said drugs are not their purpose.  What happens in Vegas ...

They aren't the police, anyway.  They're private security for the property.
