NPR report this morning said one of the firearms the shooter had in his car was a "Ruger 22mm pistol"

wow. I must have missed that model in the Ruger catalog.

come to think of it, you know that NYC truck killing?  they didn't mention if it was a Chevy, Ford, Dodge, etc.

The HD truck was a Ford.

HNN this morning said the gunman killed himself in his vehicle.  Made no mention he was chased away from the church with a good guy with a gun.  Made it seem like he shot up the church and then fled and committed suicide.

The news reported this am that the shooter called his father informing him that he was shot and didn't think he was going to make. If true, good thing someone was able to return fire.

Thinking more about this,  I wonder if this is the
"We need universal background checks" push, seeing as how he "fell through the cracks" and since the "bump stop" push failed and LV didn't get the results they wanted

Read from several sources that it was some kind of plate carrier with one hard plate in the front.  I read two stories of where he was shot; one story said in the leg and torso where the plate didnt cover and another story said he got shot in the neck.  If he did have fragments in his neck, I'm thinking that might be from the rounds fragmenting as they hit the plate on his chest.

Oh, he also had that one hole he gave himself.

Apparently, the good guy who engaged the shooter outside of the church was not only a formerly certified NRA instructor, but he was also using an AR-15 in the gun fight.

Can't get much better that that.

Funny how it's an assault rifle when a bad guy kills innocent people but it's just a rifle when the civilian good guy uses an AR with an eotech against the bad guy. Nice play on words media

15 magazines and 450 rounds fired which means the incident was probably 5-10 minutes long.  I guess there was only one doorway into the place.  Not much the church goers could've done in a situation like that except try and jump through a window if they're lucky.  Can't really do much unless you're armed.

Yea that was pretty awesome to hear his account of how it went down.  Grabbed a handful of loose rounds stuffing a mag as he ran out the door barefoot.  Using his neighbors truck motor as cover and using that eotech moa dot to put one right in the bad guys side.  Nice.
